Hi there, we're headed to Sandusky to process our passes today but I'm confused... it says that there are two locations but then it just lists Castaway Bay. It seems to me that the CP location opens May 1st but the verbiage below is confusing. Any insight? Thanks!
VOUCHER REDEMPTION
Due to the construction of GateKeeper, the Cedar Point Season Pass Center's opening for the 2013 season will be delayed slightly. However, Cedar Point representatives will be available beginning Wednesday, April 24 at Castaway Bay (2nd floor) for processing and selling season passes. It's anticipated that Castaway Bay will be used between April 24-28 with the Season Pass Center opening Wednesday, May 1. This schedule is dependent on the construction, however. Hours for both locations are:
Wednesday, April 24 - Tuesday, April 30 Monday & Tuesday: Closed
Wednesday - Friday: 3PM - 7PM
Saturday & Sunday: 11AM-7PM
Wednesday, May 1 - Friday, May 10 Monday - Friday: 3PM - 7PM
Saturday & Sunday: 11AM-7PM
Saturday, May 11 - Season Daily 9AM - Park Closing
I would say just go to Castaway Bay...or of course you could always call ahead. They're very nice people. :)

What verbiage is confusing? The dates of operation or their explanation of the alternate season pass office location?
Basically, due to construction the new front gate/area the Season Pass processing office (which was scheduled to open April 24th) will not be open. So, an alternate site on the 2nd floor of Castaway Bay will be set-up.
They hope the new Season Pass office will be ready by May 1. However, this may change depending on the continued construction schedule.
So keep checking the website for updates as to when the new Season Pass office will be opening (or not). As suggested, I am sure you can call Cedar Points general phone number to receive an update.
just got back from Castaway Bay - flawless, no wait, smooth as glass...WOW...so much better then waiting in line like last year! In and out in less then 10 min!!!
You know, keeping the early processing there could be a good idea. I wonder how many people getting it done are having a look at Castaway Bay for the first time. Plus, it saves people drive time, etc.

But there's a beautiful new B&M coaster to drool at. Why would you NOT want it to be at the park?! :)

Well you could always drive on and take a peek...I just meant from a marketing standpoint for Castaway Bay.
:)
I've actually never set foot in CB.

Excellent idea....this was so organized and so smooth today......
A co-worker of mine (who moved up from Texas last year) went to Castaway Bay this weekend to process his new Platinum Pass. He said it was smooth and quick.
My wife and daughter processed their vouchers purchased at CP last year at Kings Island on Saturday without much issue.
The odd thing I find is that the Cedar Point issued Platinum Pass says Cedar Fair on it. My pass processed at Kings Dominion has that parks name on the Platinum Pass. My wife and daughters say Kings Island.
Maybe Cedar Fair did not get the new blank cards sent out in time... hahaha
I know that is not the case. My brother-in-law got his new card last year (since he wore out last years pass) and it has the Cedar Fair name.
I went on Saturday to get my youngest son's pass and I was in and out in less than 2 minutes. They had it set up nice at Castaway Bay. Than we took a nice little drive over to the point. I told the security guard my kids wanted to see Gatekeeper and he let us go by. They were testing it at the time and it sounded so smooth. Didn't seem very fast but smooth. I took a few pics.
Ride-on
We processed our passes on Sunday. We already had a trip planned to Kalahari so we stopped by CP first to drive in and see Gatekeeper, and check out the damage to the Blue Streak. The parking attendant was on the phone so we just drove on through. After that we stopped at Castaway Bay and we were in and out in 10 min. My husband said the same thing about a marketing ploy as they have you conveniently walk through the resort a little bit before you make it up to the 2nd floor.
One tip I'd suggest (for newbies like myself).. ask to have your pass stamped with a hole- in case you want to use a lanyard. I asked the employee if I could punch a hole in it myself and they have a special machine for it. I"m not sure why they just don't come that way but I'm glad I asked while I was there. Can't wait- it seems so much more official now!
