I'm not sure how many people will know/remember this from last year, but I noticed two MAJOR and significant changes from the 2007 VIP packages to the 2008 packages!!
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure if you had at least 4 people reserve a VIP package (the max allowed being 8 people) it was a discounted rate of $350 per person, but for 2008 it appears ALL VIP's are now $400 each!?
However, the biggest change I noticed is the 8 hour time limit!?!?...BOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I read a VIP TR from last year to confirm, and indeed the person last year had a friggin' 13 hour day VIP!?!? That's nearly twice the allotted time compared to this year!! I guess leave it up to Cedar Fair to completely neuter the benefits of the VIP package (as they do with many other things, btw!) in the same year that professional 20-something's everywhere are now flush with $600 stimulus checks!
Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to do it this year, but clearly not only was any year prior to 2008 the best year for a VIP package, but CP need not worry as I will be clock-watching the minutes and make sure I'm on some ride platform even with 60 seconds left...
If you're going to still pay the 400 then I guess the market dictated that they could raise prices.
The 8 hour thing sucks, but I'm sure it has more to do with staffing more than anything.
When your getting walk ons to everything, how much time do you really need?

13 hours!!
But the staffing thing is a VERY interesting point!! I almost wonder if that might be changed later in the season when the staff is fuller??
Don't quote the previous post.
Seriously, if you don't think it's a good value, why do you intend to buy it anyway?
