I just love watching the die hards throw their hands up as the Christmas Tree lights up. There is one launch where almost everyone does it. It makes me laugh. Nice video.
Love it or Lump it.

I was watching a train in the staging area the other day and this guy would not put his arms down. I swear the rideop pressed the "ARMS DOWN" botton a good ten times before the ride launched. People just don't get it.

Is it me? Or does Dragster seem to really slow down once it hits the upward twist? It seemed that way in some of the early takes of this vid. Is it caused by the twist? Or, does that happen to be the point where the train seems to lose momentum. It just seemed like I was watching the launch and the train was gettin' it until the twist? Comments?
Well of course thats where it loses momentum.
It's an extremely heavy train going up vertically. Gravity is pulling it back down the tower the most at that point.

Well, I guess you're technically correct since gravity is acting on it at a constant rate. The apparent change in speed probably has to do more with a change in perspective than any actual deceleration.

The train is rapidly decelerating as soon as it passes the hydraulic building. To add to what John said, it's much like seeing an airplane in the sky. It looks slow, but it's really going 500mph. Of course TTD isn't nearly as high, but it is still way up there.

^ No, I don't think that it's high enough at that point to make it look like its going slower than it is.
The perspective change I am talking about is not because of its height, but the rotation. You're going from a top down view of the train to a profile view (or visa-versa depending on where you stand and watch) which may be messing with the apparent speed.

^That would explain it, Juggalotus. I wasn't really sure if what I was seeing was what I was seeing, if you catch my drift.

ttdboy111, another great video of Dragster. Didn't you say you had a video of TTD station in your first thread?
Quote from a Corkscrew ride op, "And Dragster is down again"
It seems as though the train is going faster over the tophat than usual.

I think I said I had some video of Millennium Force's station. I still haven't posted that but thanks for reminding me I'll try to get it up sometime soon when I have the time. I also have some of TTD's station I'm pretty sure.
