Video Shoots

Just curious. Twice now, PKI has asked for "volunteers" from CBuzz for people to do video shoots for rides.

Where does CP get their "volunteers" from? As someone who has been visiting the park for nearly 36 years, I would love to be involved in a video shoot for any of their rides.

all the pictures for the getaway guide and such are taken throughout the season. some of the major rides get photo shoot mornings. at magnum we had two trains filled with employees and four guests that were selected from the resort gate at 8:30am. if you want to me in a photo shoot, find out when the next one is in 2003 and call marketing, they run the show.

All of the Mantis video you see consists of employees, some of them full-time. There is old Iron Dragon footage out there with employees too. It really depends on when the shoots are done.

Still pictures (for things like the Getaway Guide) are most often done using models. A picture of guests at Breakers looks just like the folks in the pictures at Sandcastle.

It's typical that they'll fill a train with employees, but if they need someone on camera, they'll get an enthusiast. Stephanie did Wicked Twister last spring from some Travel Channel show that still hasn't aired. I think she said the other riders were a mix of employees and enthusiasts (and some filler body jerk who told someone to get him coffee).

the people that we had were really nice. the little girl loved it but her grandfather need to get off after like the 4th time around. it was actually funny, me and nancy were running platform for the photo shoot and we would ask who wants to get out? no one? good! and then i would lock the bars and you would see someone be like I WANT OUT! and we were running three trains and didnt wanna set up so out they went!

Honestly, I can't understand some jerks. I would be so happy to just be involved in something like that for the experience. I've never even seen a video shoot and think it would be interesting.

LOL, just what we would need, a bunch of magnumaniacs for the photo shoot. u have to remember that during the viddo/photo shoot u can put ur hands up. u have to sit like the perfect ride, which all of the magnumaniacs are(lol).

For the Raptor photo shoot we had keep our hands on the bars. But it was still awsome to start your day with six laps with out a break in between.

i do have to say with video shoots, it is fun. i remember when i used to work at Geauga Lake (for some of you, that's the park before SFWoA), we had a video shoot for the Texas Twister, when it first came out. They used us as employees to sit for taping of the new ride. They made us ride this thing 6 times in a row. Now for some who don't know what type of ride this is, does anyone know what the carnaval ride Top Spin is? Or maybe if you had a chance to ride the Tomb Raider at PKI, this is something like the same thing. the only difference is our 6 back to back rides considered us flipping 6 to 8 times per ride, about 40 to 45 flips. let's just say, a few of us were not able to work for a couple hours. but all in all it was fun.

I was going to be in a Wicked Twister shoot earlier in the season but then at the last minute they told me I couldn't for some reason. I was looking forward to it but, oh well.

I did a video shoot on the Enterprise years and years ago. They had us up there for a good 12 minutes. We were all sick after getting off there!
