Very Loud Low Roar at the Park Today?

Steve-O's avatar

I work at the park, but I'm positive a lot of people heard this noise this morning/early afternoon. I'm still puzzled as to what it could've been because the noise was deafening and it only lasted for about 3 seconds and it definitely wasn't thunder. Did anyone else that was at the park today (technically yesterday now) hear this noise and have any idea what it was? It was quite terrifying because I have never heard anything like it before.

Are you referring to the loud boom between 5:30-6:30am on Thursday morning? If so, I heard it and saw the lightning. It was deafening, but I don't think it was anything more than thunder over the bay (very close, if not over, the park).

The quarry off of Route 250 was probably blasting again. When I worked near there, people from miles around would hear the rumbling and think it was thunder.
