VERY IMPORTANT QUESTIONS!

Jesz's avatar
Me and my friends are going to CP tommorow (5/14/04) on a class trip. I was wondering if I bring a camera with me, while on a coaster can the ride ops hold on to it for me? Also, are you allowed to ride flip flops on the coasters? I am almost positive they would stay on my feet. And how do the on ride pictures cost? My friend and I want to buy one of them from when we ride the millenium force. Thanks.

Nope... they won't hold anything for you.

Thanks! Because now I know not to bring my camera. Anyone else know the answers to the rest of my questions?

If you can't wear the right footware and decide that for yourself, you probably shouldn't be in the park unsupervised.

And your questions really aren't that important to most everyone else.

There is no need to be mean about it. Unlike other people I do not have the money to be in the park as much as I would like. The last time I was on a coaster was 2 years ago. Not by choice, but for the fact that I have not have the extra money to go.

My friend brought up the point that they may not let you wear flip flops. It may be against the rules. As this being a website for people who go to CP a lot, I figured someone here could help me. I am sorry that I titled my post "VERY IMPORTANT QUESTIONS."

You are a very good website builder Jeff, but as a person you are a real jerk. I could understand you mentioning something about my title, because this is your webpage. But there was no need to be mean about the shoe comment. Havn't you ever learned if you have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?

Why the hell would you want to wear flip flops to an amusement park all day long anyhow? Those things are annoying as it is. Just wear a good comfortable pair of sneakers. www.cedarpoint.com has a great list of FAQ that perhaps you should check out! And btw...you've been here for about a month and a half and just now realized that one of the webmasters is a jerk? Geesh Jeff, you're losing your touch these days. ;)

To answer your photo price question, our photos are one for $9.00 or two for $15.00, not including Dragster of course. Each photo location also offers a button for $1.00 and new this year, mousepads which are $4.00.

Wow, buttons for only a buck? Mouse pads for only 4 bucks? That's not a bad price at all. I'll have to keep that in mind.

Thanks for answering my questions. My flip flops are actually very comfortable. They stay on my feet pretty well too. I wasn't asking for suggestions for foot wear, I was just wondering if they will allow you on the coasters with them.

I stumbled upon GTTP back in 2001. I used to go by the name of IVAN. Then I was using MagnumGurlie. For 2 years I stopped visiting the site, because I knew I wouldn't beable to get to CP. IDK I just stopped. I guess it was 2 months ago then, I signed up again under the name Jesz.

Anyways thanks for answering all of my questions.

I doubt they will let you on with them. They see flip flops and they will probably make you take them off. I don't know for sure though. Call Cedar Point, they might be able to tell you.

Riding with flip flops is not a problem on most rides. They will want you to remove them from the floor less aerial rides. From CP's website:

"Slip-on shoes should be removed on the Wave Swinger, Raptor, Power Tower and Wicked Twister."

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I carry my CanonGIII SLR camera on quite a few coasters without a problem. Some disposable cameras have a wrist strap. I don't hink you would have a problem with one of those.

Roller Coasters That is.....

they will make you ware any type of shoe no matter what it is as long as it has a heel, flip flops will need to be worn at all times on coasters except Raptor, Wicked Twister, Power Tower, and any other ride that your feet hang so don't even try to take them off for TTD or MF.
you can wear flip flops, and store them at the rides twister mentioned above.

they all have either storage bins or a counter you can leave your shoes/cameras ect. on.

i've never had a problem wearing flip flops.

Cedar Point requires that anybody who isn't a hand-held infant wears shoes in the park.

Their definition of "shoe" is extremely broad, including anything with a rigid surface between the pavement and your foot.

Unlike some parks, Cedar Point actually encourages you to remove loose shoes on feet-dangling rides. Interesting, considering that an operator at another Cedar Fair park turned the Yo-Yo into a game of 'kick the operator in the head' by insisting that people wear shoes when they shouldn't.

As for cameras...if it's small enough to stuff into a pocket, stuff it into your pocket and you'll be fine. Don't pull it out during the ride or your fellow park goers will be compelled to hurt you.

wrist strap won't cut it as stated on the CP website:

Small cameras, such as Instamatics and small 35mm cameras may be taken on all rides (except Power Tower, Millennium Force, Corkscrew, Raptor, Top Thrill Dragster, Wicked Twister, Demon Drop and Mantis) provided the camera may be safely secured in a purse, pocket or sock.

As for flip-flops, make sure you take some blister pads as you are going to have sore feet when your day ends.

I didn't know they had mousepads. At least they weren't advertised at TTD. I probably would have gotten one with my picture, I just wish my picture had my brother in it, when we rode saturday night it didn't turn out because like everyone in front of us put their hands up, so my face was completely obscured.

Anyway,

Errr...were those flip flops all day if you want to but I suggest you wear gym shoes or sneakers that are comfortable.
"gym shoes or sneakers that are comfortable."

Hmmmmm.....

Is there such a thing?

(there is a reason that I haven't bought a pair of gym shoes or sneakers since I got out of school!)

Thanks for all your suggestions. I didn't take my camera because I didn't want to lose it. I did wear the flip flops. They were very comfortable...until they broke. haha. yup. It was because they were a cheap pair. I should have wore the thicker ones. Anyways I ended up walking through CP without no shoes on for a little bit. I then found my friend with my money and we went and bought a pair of flip flops. They made me take them off on the Raptor and Wicked Twister.
