VertiGo Seats

Hey to all you people who have been fortunate to ride vertigo.  I'm headed up to Cedar Point on September 8 with my college and I was wondering how big the seats are for the ride.  I can just fit into power tower, along with every other ride at cedar point, except for raptor.  My question is, how big are they, will I fit in them, and can I ride, it would suck if I couldn't I'm gettin all hyped up for it.  Also do you recommend going back there first and then to MF or go MF then vertigo?  Thanks a lot

The seats wouldn't be the problem... the "seat" consists of one hump that's sorta like a saddle that goes between your legs.

The harness, however, is a different story. I didn't run into any larger people getting on the ride, so I can't say for sure if they'd fit or not.

Its an over the head harness you put on before going to the ride that has 4 or 5 of these metal rods you place into specific holes surrounding your "old folks" bike seat..:) Sorry thats the best way to sescribe the seat itself.

Yeah, jumping doesn't work anymore either! I get jumped on for Power Tower, but Raptor just doesn't work anymore, the seatbelt is like an inch too short, :(  Went I went to Islands of Adventure though, they had big people seats which were VERY nice.  Anyway, the harness thingy, is it kinda like ripcord?  I've done ripcord before.  That worked just fine :)  Thanks for all your info.  It rocks

Big folks are turned away. I saw a guy today who couldn't ride.

The harness is like a big jock strap with four pins that connect you to the seat. There's enough play in it that you can pretty freely move around in-flight.

...you're not serious...are you? There's much more to Cedar Point that Vertigo. After all, it was voted the best park for 4 years straight now...and it has the number 1, 3, and 8 (1,2,4 last year) steel coasters in the world...and it was voted for the best capacity...etc. :)

They have larger harnesses for bigger people.  I used one.  I'm 5'10" 240# with broad shoulders.  Im not a skinny winny, but my problem with Raptor is that my shoulders are too big to close the retraint without squeezing in.

I didn't see any limits posted as far as weight and height, although it seems that height would not be a problem at all.

I loved the ride.  It almost scared the pants off of me.  I cant wait to do it again!

well how large would you have to be, to be turned away as Jeff said.

Hmmm, the friend I rode it with said there is some sort of sign near the ride.  Ill have to check it out to see if there is a restriction.  I'll also ask the ride ops.  Ill be there Saturday and Sunday.
I spoke to a ride op today and she said that there weren't any body size/weight/height restrictions.  I find that hard to believe as in some extreme cases there has to be line where it is safe/not safe.

They have a height scale on a pole which indicates which size harness to wear.  I am 5'10" and the color coded scale seemed about 7 foot tall.

I don't see a problem with getting on the ride, unless you are of extreme body size.

I did see a few people concerned on the ride when they leaned off to one side of the chair when the seat returned upright.  You won't fall out, but it seems kind of scary when you are leaning off of your seat a bit.

I experienced it and others have mentioned it.

It's fun when you fall off to the side of your seat when it returns upright! ;)

Majin, you are nuts!

I sent a letter to S & S last night about 3am and received a response about 7am, on a holiday no less!

They said that they extensively tested it and the ride is safe.

I believe that, especically if you look at the harness and see that you really won't be deviating that much off of the seat.  But it still scares me.  I LOVE THAT RIDE!
