When I was at CP last Wednesday, my cell worked fine in the parking lot. Sunday was a totally different story, 1st had non stop probs finding a satellite, then when I would call it would say it was calling but didnt. It wasn't just me either since one of the other people I was with was having the same prob and she too uses Verizon.
Dan even tried calling me with his cell and it told him my phone was shut off/out of range. I couldnt make a call until we were past downtown Sandusky. Due to having 1 daughter at home and a sick horse I needed to check on it was a pain having a cell and having to use a pay phone anyway. I am unsure if it was just THAT day Verizon was having probs (along with Raptor :))
or we can expect this all season.
Just an FYI just in case!

If I cant ride it, rope it, pull a trailer behind it, then I dont want it!! Cowgirl up!!
I'm on the Verizon network and have had similar problems on Sunday. People could not get through to me, but I could call out with a long delay after pressing send. It's been my experience that cell phones from all companies, not just Verizon, can be a problem. It's my theory that the network gets overloaded on summer weekends from all the tourists coming in. Not just CP guests, but all the boaters also add to the problem. It's been like this over the last three or four summers, and I've just learned to live with unreliable mobile phone service on summer weekends in Sandusky.
Let me break it down for you:
VERIZON IS SATAN!
I have constant problems with my phone, and that's in my home calling area, so imagine what I have to deal with when I'm at Cedar Point! I hate Verizon with a passion.
I suggest you bail on your contract and go somewhere else...that's what I'm doing.

Sprint PCS for the most part is so-so. A lot of times I don't show any signal but I can still call without problem.

Yeah, I've never had problems with my Sprint phone.

I buddy of mine has Sprint, and when I've talked to him I've found the sound quality to be much worse than Verizon. Sometimes to the point where you can't have a normal conversation.
What brand of cell phone are you using? Maybe it isn't the carrier, but the phone.
I have Sprint PCS, and I had no problems at CP last year with it. A full signal anywhere in the park unless I was in Disaster Transport of course. I have a SCH-3500 phone and it has been dropped, kicked, sat on and stepped on countless times.

My Sprint phone is a Samsung, don't know the number. Anyways, it's also been beat up. I've got a cracked "window," I guess you would call it, on the front. Cracked when rushing the field after our (UC's) football team beat Ron Dayne and the Wisconsin Badgers!! What a day for Cincinnati football. Better than what the bengals do, for sure.

No problems with Sprint PCS on my phone (Motorola StarTac). I've found more often than not that as long as you're in the carrier's coverage area, you'll be fine, but your phone makes a difference. Cheap phones sound like cheap phones.

Futuristic bow-wow... do the dog catcher!
I think my buddy has a Samsung on Sprint. I have a Motorola V6160 (the tiny one) on Verizon. My phone sounds great with most people except when talking to him. I guess his phone must be having problems.
