The modern B&M restraint has "infinite" locking points, rather than discrete locking positions as found on Raptor, for example. What happens on GK is that as you and your restraint are thrown around by the ride, the restraint can actually tighten. At least that's what I experience. The vest fix didn't really help with this problem.

djDaemon, I have the exact experience as you. Although the locking vest issue has been fixed (and thank God for that), the restraints tighten too much throughout the ride.
While I do LOVE Gatekeeper and do prefer its restraints to Raptor's, I do find the restraints on Gatekeeper a little annoying, but, at times, find them to be painfully tight on my lap. To avoid this, I constantly push forward on the restraint either on the bare metal or the outer ends, especially when approaching the bottom of ALL drops. The only issue I might have at the end is while waiting in the third train for the first and second train to disembark from the station, usually because someone puked. This is when the vest will dig into my collar bones. I just push up on the vest, then.
I love those new maverick restraints, but the old ones were just fine too. Never head the head banging issue many people have on it. I'll get to ride banshee this year, so I'll be able to compare the new style restraints vs the old style on an invert finally. If they're like gatekeepers and don't tighten up as the ride progresses, it should be interesting. I find the gatekeeper ones do still snug up a bit as the ride goes on.
