valleying

I know that meanstreak, gemini both do this and I have heard otheres at the point do it as well. What happens when a train is stuck between two hills? How do they get it back to the station? Do strong winds usually cause this?

Depending where it's at they will either remove it from the track and replace it or try and get it over the next hill with rope/pushing/pullies/etc. Yes, rollbacks are usually caused by strong winds, cold, or farting.

valleying?? I've never heard it called that. We used to refer to it as "saddling" or the red train "saddled".

Depending on the ride, it could be weather temperature, weight of the trains and most often than not, wheel problems which cause the ride to lag and not gain the proper speed! It's normally a rare occurance though.

Saddling? That doesn't make sense... It's valleying because it's stuck between two hills (in a valley).
Whatever the hell it's called, when Millenium Force got stuck it's opening years, they got the people out and used a crane at night to pull it through to the end or what not. (saw it on 13abc.com when it happened)

Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!

MF has done that a few times. A coupple of weeks ago, Gemini's red train was sitting at the bottom of the helix with no passengers. Blue almost rolled back earlier that same day. It was stopped on midcourse with the entire back car hanging down the back of the hill. Took about 10 maintenence guys to go up there and push it to keep it from rolling back.
