There is another diary update as of this morning.

100 miles of wiring! And I thought wiring my basement was a job.

On another note, I hope I get to ride Dragster in the fog sometime.

Monty siad that all of the construction be done by March 1. How are they going to do this because they have alot of staion to put up and pore the floor of the station. How could they get this done by March 1 (today is feb 24 there are only 5 days left until march 1) Can they get it done in 5 days?

I bet they can. To me it seems as if they have been rather fast on this project. That diary entry was great news.

The hydraulic systems will be completed by March 1, I believe is what he was saying.

New For 2003 Top Thrill Dragster Tallest Coaster Ever!!

I didn't know they were so far along on the project. I'm surprised to see that the testing will possibly begin in two weeks. Then again thats only 1 1/2 month before opening day. Doesn't feel like there's only 68 days left til opening day. That would be pretty cool to make it up to Cedar Point to see the first test runs.

Does anyone know the number of test runs that are needed before they'll open it? Didn't Xcelerator need 1000 runs?

He also said that they got some more of the trains and that they were putting "finishing touches" on them.

That would probaly be what we saw on TV last night. As they were putting the decals on the trains.

They've worked their butts off getting this ride done with plenty of time to work out any bugs.

The only way they will be finished by March 1 is if the cams are not showing use live feeds.

Read the report again carefully. Monty said the hydraulic system will be complete by 3/1, and that the hydraulic system will start testing. No where did he say that the entire ride will be finished.

I'd expect it to be another month before the ride actually launches its first successful run.

I'd say that they start before that time. They want to have any kinks present in the ride (as shown with Xcelerator) to be worked out. I wouldn't be surprised if they match the 1000 hours of testing that they did with Millennium Force's lift hill.

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.
