Me too...that does not look like a smooth transition.

Most of the brake to flat, or flat to launch tracks on Intamins have that same strange angled transition to them.

My guess is that since there is no drive wheels on the brake run, the brake run needs to be angled so that the train can gain some speed so that it can run into the drive wheels that are set on the level set of track.....seen here(top right) : http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=5974

And since that turn is on a slant, there are a set of retractable brakes at the straight away before the station......seen here:http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=5975
