I saw a pic (on another site) of the track transition, or at least the start of it, and its odd. As its angle decreases, its pitch slightly inclines so it's like a very small hop. The end of the track piece is slightly pitched towards the ground so it's going to finish the transition into the next banked turn like a baby version of a bunny hop.....except the whole thing is banked...........MAN I cant descibe it.

It's a banked bunny hop transition....THERE!!

This one leads me to think the prototype could still be alive - minimal trenching would solve any issues.

The "Wing Walker" prototype train theory, a once hoped-for feature of Cedar Point's Project 2007, died Sunday, July 16, at Pointbuzz.com. The theory was 6 weeks old. The death was a result of several factors, including evidence, reason and common sense.

Born in June, 2006, in Sandusky, Michigan, the theory was the result of rampant speculation and wishful thinking by many of the theory's friends and relatives. Through "Wing Walker's" short life, it created an atmosphere of hope and excitement regarding the possible ride experience it could have created.

The theory is survived by his father, "Four-Across Sit-Down", Mother, "4-D", Grandfather, "2-Across Sit-Down" and his young wife, "Floorless". Funeral services will be held in Wollerau, Switzerland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bolliger & Mabillard, Chemin des Dailles 31, CH-1870 Monthey, Switzerland.

I just hope it isn't loud. There are A LOT of kids and families that ride the train and if that ride goes screeching by it I can see a lot of people having issues.

No, no and no. The entire park is loud. Heck, the whistle on the train is pretty loud. I can't imagine someone having a legitimate complaint about noise at an amusement park. That's like complaining about all the quiet customers in a movie theater.

Kind of like Millennium Force's first drop?

I think that hearing loud gunshots in Boneville would be more startling to people then a coaster going by. At least people expect to see a coaster, and can explain better to their kids then gunshots.

How are gun shots hard to explain? Theres a skeleton with a gun, and when you hear the gun shot smoke comes out of the gun. Not that hard of explanation, especially if you've explained firearms safety to your kids.

Yes, I agree, it was a funny post and very entertaining. Though to be honest, the facts that I keep seeing that eliminate the wing walker theory is how close to the ground the track and suppports are, and supports that are too close to each other.

The PA video has track very close to the ground while the pictures yesterday show at least 7 feet clearance between ground and track. With 18 inch seat widths, you would have 4 feet of clearance from the end of the seat and ground. Regarding the footers that are close to eachother, additional supports could be added to them or maybe they will hold cameras for the online ride photos?

I realize the Aquatrax is the leading candidate, but given the length of the proposed station, I just don't see how multiple single car trains could give CP the capacity they usually strive for with coasters?

No, Tom.

And that turn that transitions from dual to tri rail track is gonna come very close to hitting that support right next to it as well.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

RyanNRobert, how crowded was it yesterday?
I'm going tomorrow and hope it's not too bad because I only get out once a year.

DJ - thank you for the pic - and you're right, it is close (no question) - but when I look at the pic and the three center supports between the taller outer supports, the center ones appear to be different heights (low, high, low). Could be the camera angle, but without track or additional supports on the track, I continue to hold out hope, because the first low support could be for a camera, with the other two angled at such an angle the wide train "could" fit.
