Big thanks to Aaron Stegall (Aaron_toledo) for these pictures.
Man these updates are pouring in faster than they can put up new footers!
Thanks everybody.

Isn't it wonderful what a week's worth of rain will do to a construction site? I remember working in muddy messes like that-no fun had by anyone.

I sure hope they called before they dug because that's a whole lotta digging they are doing.
I noticed that there aren't any massive footers like what we saw with Millennium Force and Dragster. To me I think this thing will have a decent track length but not a tall ride. Like I've been saying all along, alot like California Screamin'

Good to see those nice Cat tractors being used. Two of my investments working together: CAT and FUN! Nice kitty. purr.

The amount of metal rods laying around is insane. We have ALOT more footers on the way.

Is it just me or do those footers look like those of Wicked Twister? http://pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=1319
If anything they are pretty much identical to MF's. MF has the square ones under the stations comparable to these square ones.

Since MF, WT, TTD, and this 2007 coaster are Intamins, their footers should all look the same or at least similar.

I did notice in this picture http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=3670 that there is rebar latice (concrete prep) at the end of the trough towards the bottom of the photo leading up to the largest footers on site (Lift hill). I am thinking this trough will lead out of the station much like Blue Streak with a bit of a turn around to get to the lift hill. Just a thought.

The trough might be big foundation for a turn. Like it was said in another topic, CP has to pour wide foundations. *** Edited 5/20/2006 1:23:10 AM UTC by Gomez***

all coaster footings look similar. you can't tell the type of coaster just from the footing. from a pattern of footings, sure. but, even then, if you have different structural engineers on the job, you'll have different types of footings. its all preference.
True but look at the degree of turn over how much space. Granted it depends on the size of the lift hill (assuming what before or after the trough is the lift hill) and how much speed you gain at the end of the first drop, to me it seems like that may be a bit too tight of a turn after the first drop. But thats just me and what do I know I'm just an electrician not an engineer.
The base may look like a tight turn, but the supports could extend out. Much like MF's first over banked turn. Granted it's a box support tower. Generally the same concept in my head. Small foot and large head. http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=588
I do agree it looks like it's going to have track in the gound. Possibly a transport to the lift hill like blue streak. However, maybe this will be developed into an in ground tunnel. There certainly isn't any hills at CP, so why not build one.... The rebar would make since to me to build up concrete surroundings. *** Edited 5/20/2006 2:31:51 AM UTC by MonsterMan***
I think it's just a trench dug to pour the foundation for the footers in and that it will then be filled in, just like many of the other footers in the area were done.
