If we’re limited to one job, I would suggest sweeping.

Rides would be great, but the group would likely only get to do entrance or fast lane positions.
Actually now they can do any position on platform minus anything w/ buttons (so take Magnum, they can do the whole platform except for load 3 in the back w/ the dispatch controls.

This could be some good for a group.
Lets say just 4 people volunteer from here.
That's 24 hours per person @ 6.75 (total wage + bonus) to deliver to an organization. That brings us to 96 hours total to be compensated. That leaves 648.00 for a charity of our choice. That's alot for one group depending on what is selected (I mean think, most people donate just 50 - 100 per person for a first rider auction). Plus I would imagine we'd have more than just 4 people doing this. I'm sure I could get 4 people alone just on my end.
If we did something like this for the LBJ Foundation, Give Kids the World, or any other charity, that's actually pretty sweet.

Not quite the case anymore. There was an incident a few years back that fundraisers are now restricted to "non-safety" positions. For most rides this is almost any position that sits.
Example: at Power Tower I got 2 fundraisers each weekend, and they could only work the turnstile position. Another example is at maverick, they would get 4 per weekend. One for entrance, fast lane, crowd, and one to send the others on break.
Oh well that sucks then...Guess I wouldn't want to do ops for a weekend...
Man that leaves like..nothing I'd want to do...That kinda bites. I was totes hoping to pop pedals, check restraints & spiel again for a day, not sit on my ass with a height stick haha

^^I literally was a sweep as a send one day for Area 2. Literally worst day I've ever had at CP.
If it rains, you're still out sweeping rain (with a rubber squeegee). If it's hot, you're out, if it's cold, you're out. You'll constantly be telling people to stop smoking, be cleaning up melted snow cones, decobbing fences, and dumping leaves. It's one of the few jobs that exist that I've honestly felt bad for thsoe that do it, and also given mad props to those that can do it all season.
The interaction part was sweet, but the rest of it was actually pretty hard work. I was genuinely sore the next day, and was so happy to get back in a ride op position.
^Also I doubt it, it really doesn't mean much, especially considering it's been YEARS, and tons of changes have happened. I mean hell my training on Magnum is practically moot with the new PLC I'm sure.
I'm still interested, I think maybe Games would be fun for a day to goof off with guests and see a few kids play games & win gigantic prizes. However, no other position really tickles my fancy like wearing a ride op uniform there haha.

I'd volunteer to bartend at Surf Lounge if I were able to keep the tips! 🍸 Seriously though, I think Walt had a great idea and I would do it for a weekend to help a good charity, wherever the park can use me.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
^Same here haha. In our house we have a giant lazy susan in one corner of the cabinets. Both levels are stocked with various liquor bottles. We have a fun game called the wheel of death. Spin & then stop, then grab one bottle in front of you without looking. Whatever you get, you have to make a drink with.
It could be a bottle of Blantons, New Amsterdam, or one nasty ass bottle of Malort I've snuck in there bahahaha

Remove halloweekends from the platinum pass and they lose my business.Considering you are posting in a thread discussing the park's problems dealing with massive attendance, you won't be missed. In fact, the entire point of tiered access would be to limit attendance, so they would be counting on losing your business.
Sorry, wrong answer. I go every Friday and Sunday, and Saturday evening only when the weather is crummy. I AM their target audience.
