Two Trains on Raptor Lift??

Long story short I saw that on a shirt, did that ever happen? I can't find any threads about it (the search is so DIFFICULT).

At the turn of the Millennium, there were signs. Was the something out there?... A mysterious force at work? Beyond words. Beyond comprehension. Beyond, beyond beyond… A natural force simply known as, Millennium Force. The future is riding on it.…

It happened two seasons ago. One train was dispatched normally, and the second one was brought in from transfer, but it didn't stop and just followed the other one up the lift. Ride stopped, guests got out. Problem fixed.

I don't know if I'd say "problem fixed" by the guests getting evac'd from the lift. I'd call that "halfway fixed." There's still that pesky train at the bottom of the lift.

How was the extra train removed from the lift? Was the lift motor strong enough to lift two trains until the top train crested? Was the lower train pulled off and moved back to the transfer?

Not "problem fixed."

From what I recall people saying, they just ran them both up the lift until the first one went over, stopped the lift, then ran up the second one. Someone on here posted pictures, but I'd never be able to find that thread now.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Heh, fun stuff. Someone may ask how could this happen? Aren't the control computers supposed to prevent this from happening?

The answer is yes, but it seems that B&M's sensors, Raptor especially, are interfered with every so often. Usually the sensors are interfered with by a bug or bird and the computer thinks that there are more than one train in the same block simultaneously. This results in the midcourse brakes to lock or lift to stop depending upon where the blocked sensor is.

This situation was especially unique since whatever interfered with the sensor in the station actually blocked it from seeing the train, but also didn't register as being blocked--since this would cause the brakes to lock up.

It was a funny inside joke amongst employees, and I think it made it onto their crew shirts for that year. *** Edited 5/11/2005 3:10:09 AM UTC by CP_bound***

I was actually at the park when this happened. I remember thinking how in the heck it could have happened. I was on my way out of the park for the night. I should have stayed and seen how they got it all worked out.
