I have heard that the Iron Dragon and the Gemini coasters were both not running on a recent Halloweekend day.
I assume this is due to staffing. Well, Cedar Point needs to come with a back-up plan. The place is now known
for its coasters. The park is going all-out with no signs of stopping on the coaster over kill. So how do they justify
just casually closing 2 of those gems in the crown due to staffing? And why has this become the norm and is
acceptable to so many on this site as well as guests? The park isn't in a third-world country nor is it a slouch
road carnival.
Ever since the park has been open on Fridays for Halloweekends, Corkscrew, The Mine Ride, Gemini, Iron Dragon and a few other rides has been closed or seen limited service on Fridays. Remember college and high school students still have classes. If the staffing bothers you so much, get your ass over to Sandusky, go to Cedar Point and apply for a job as a ride operator. If you are not willing to be part of the solution, you are part of the problem.
I was at Cedar Point all weekend open to close, Thursday through Sunday. There was plenty to do every day without those rides being open and it was great weekend at the park. While I didn't personally interview every person in attendance at the park I did not overhear one person complain about the rides being shut down. I would agree that it has to do with staffing especially when they lose a lot of workers once colleges start back up. Not sure what you want them to do to correct this non-issue for 99% of park visitors.
I realize each ride has it’s own appeal and its own audience, but every time I see or hear a complaint like this I think of how difficult it is to ride every roller coaster in a day anyway. (Especially during a super busy Halloweekend) And those two rides seem like the ones that would likely be a pass.
I also realize that everyone is entitled to their opinion but I wish that CoasterHawk would stop posting a new topic every time a ride is down. Am I alone there?
CoasterHawk:
I have heard...
You start an awful lot of new threads about rides being down when you're not there.

At 3 o'clock, after watching the live cams for 15 minutes, someone should tell CoasterHawk that Millennium Force is not running. Also the Sky Ride and MaxAir are not operating. It was hard to tell but I don't think Skyhawk is operating either. I know that this information is important to him.
This is indeed clear and plain evidence that if one is unhappy with CP operations, you must post it on PointBuzz. This is the source that CP black-shirt higher-ups will go to when deciding how to remedy these travesties. Clearly they assigned someone to peruse this site and address the wrong.
Because the "squeaky wheel" gets attention, I witnessed Iron Dragon operating today.
I like the phrase "the place is now known for its coasters" as if it was known for something else the last, oh, 30 years.
