tunnels

Jeff,
I think it would matter when there is a 4-wheeler full of food coming down the midway and running up the backs of your ankles cuz there is no room for driving it! Trust me, i have run over my share of people over by the Magnum with a wheeler full of fries and burgers!

There will probably be plenty of room. I think Cedar Point deliberately placed the tunnels there to act as a barrier for Frontier Trail for the rest of the park. Maybe it's kind of a promise to not let Frontier Trail get pushed back any farther than the tunnels. Also, I really like the idea of the tunnel for the CPLE railroad. Tunnels just go with the whole frontier thing.
So if your friend passes out and the first aid from the back of the park is tending to someone at Mean Streak and Gemini and the scooter from the front has to make its way back is it your problem then when they cant get there to help your friend because of all the traffic PLUS stopping and waiting for the train to go by?

I guess my opinion doesnt count since its not your problem. But it is OUR problem when our stands and wagons run out of product due to the amount of people in the park. Just because it doesnt effect your job doesnt mean it wont effect anyone elses. *** This post was edited by Wagonboy on 4/9/2000. ***

I think you're making a bigger deal of it than it really is. The net change in the trail is that you have to walk an extra 40 feet. I've been there, I don't see a problem, and I refuse to think that the clever P&D people didn't think this out two years ago.

Besides, if the meat wagon had to get back to MS, I don't see why they wouldn't buzz out the gate next to marketing and enter next to Gemini instead of trying to navigate through three bottlenecks occupied by thousands of guests.

I have been a daily viewer of this board for a few months now, and an occasional poster. I thoroughly enjoy the insightful information given during the building of Millennium Force. However, this board sometimes becomes hostile in nature. If it is designed for people to express their opinions, then why, on a daily basis, is someone degraded? The employee of Cedar Point expresses his concern over the tunnels, which may hinder his job. The webmaster responds with, "not my problem!" Now there are times when the webmaster posts something that maybe someone else does not agree with, but no one would dare be as rude as to make such a comment! I respect the webmaster's knowledge and enthusiasm for Cedar Point, that's what makes me log on to this board every day, but the rudeness and sarcastic comments make me want to cringe!

Teresa you hit the nail right on the head.

I wasnt trying to make a big deal out of this.
Jeff seems to have a negative attitude about what anyone posts on here anymore. In fact my rebutals to some of his comments on a few of them have ended up deleted.

Jeff i dont know if your anticiaption for another season is getting to you or not but you need to chill out. This may be your site and i know you are resposible for monitoring it but lets not take advantage of your resposibilites.
whoa whoa whoa........showdown!

Hey, I'm behind Jeff in this. I think you guys were getting carried away...Cedar Point knows what it's doing. I don't think we have to worry about anything.

Yeah, there is at least 40 to 50 feet of room for foot traffic. Just look at the layout map.
Of course your behind Jeff on this one, everyone always is, that is the point Teresa made.

Alrighty then...

Yes, I've been prone to lashing out lately. Call it stress, whatever, it probably has nothing to do with the site. When things get crazy in life, this is the one little area I have some control over. I'm not justifying my behaviour, only explaining it. If this has offended you, Teresa, I apologize, as it was certainly not my intention to turn you off.

I don't think I've degraded anyone. I won't say, "You're wrong, stupid." However, I'm very matter-of-factly black-and-white about the way I disagree. Disagreeing is not the same as degrading.

With people posting things along the line of, "Yes Jeff, I agree," I find that to be just as irritating as many of you do. It creates noise that doesn't advance conversation and I generally delete most of it. That's the part of moderation you don't see. Most people also don't see the "that girl is a slut" posts in the employee forums or the daily "tear down DT it's lame" posts.

Why my lashing out toward Wagonboy? I guess there are two reasons. The first is that hint of "my job is going to suck" tone. Perhaps that was strictly my interpretation and not his intent, but I think we all know how I feel about that tone. The second is the constant second guessing of the people who think this stuff out. It is frankly very mind boggling to me that over and over again that people like us actually think that we thought of something that the experts who design this stuff didn't think of.

So now you know where I'm coming from. If I've pissed off anyone, please accept my apology.

There is 2 sides to every story. Respect it both ways.
Thank you Jeff. You know I've been around this board for a little bit of time and I have nothing against you, but I too have noticed your sort of "attitude" recently and in fact was going to post about it, but I was away all weekend and just got back.

It takes a big person to apologize, but an even bigger person to try to change the things they were doing wrong. I'll leave my post with that. If you'd like to delete it, feel free, but e-mail me and let me know the reasons please.

Okay, I have one more thing, I'll post it in General though, although this is so off-topic that it doesn't matter anymore, just to respect the layout of your site.

I have moved my response to the employee lounge to keep the integrity of the subject on hand in tact.
Wow...so much to say.
First off..with the "tear down DT" comment *snicker* Honestly, AR was such a better run..less "cheesiness", so to say.

Second of all, CP knows what they are doing with their millions of dollars. If they feel the need for tunnels (which I am all for), then so be it. Not only that, they have to have only THE BEST making THE BEST...let them do their jobs. It's up to us to dish out our mula to ride the thing. For us to enjoy it is a whole other matter. Not everyone is going to ride it. And not everyone who rides it is going to like it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion to the coaster (it is a free country, afterall). But don't knock it quite yet. If you can recall, we are ALL in the same boat as to no one has (or can at this point) ride MF...
