Jeff,

To answer your question, Islands of Adventure uses this system. I remember being by Dueling Dragons and seeing a sign with wait times for Spiderman and Hulk (they're on the other side of the park)

Jeff,
All of the Disney parks use the same system used described.

I say put the one sign by Coasters cause that is in the middle of the park. Another sign by town hall and one at the front of the park.

All the park would have to do is about every 20 mins or so have someone from each of the major rides call in and say how long the line is. A person could enter how long the line is into a computer and the computer would send the data to the different signs. Depending on how fancy the rides computer is(some rides computer can count how many people are in line) the ride computer itself could be hook right up to the computer that sends the data to the signs.

I think it would be a good idea to post the queue line times next to all of Cedar Point's big park maps found out throughout the park. That way when people that are unfamiliar to the park go there, they can see where the rides are and what the queue line times are on the major rides. I think queue line times should be posted on the 12 major non-kiddy coasters, Demon Drop, and Power Tower. This is all circumstantial depending on whether or not Cedar Point is willing to spend the money for a system like this. Personally, I think it would be a good idea because it would cause major rides to probably have less people in line, causing some people go to the lines with less people in them.

That's good that I'm not the only one who sees the value in this signage. Dynamic, computerized signs would be cool, but low-tech phone tag would do just as well if they wanted to test it out.

You guys listening out there on the peninsula? (They usually are...)

Futuristic bow-wow... do the dog catcher!
It'd sure make it easier on predicting wait times.
Even Universal Studios Hollywood uses it, (A park with 7 rides)
Are the phones by the queue entrances hooked up to a central system? I always thought that they could just talk to the station, and the red phone of death in the station is the only phone that can "call out" to other places.

If not, they can just buy walky talkies and a dry erase board from Super K and it should still work.
