TTD/CP on Cleveland TV...5/4/04

I heard a radio spot today which hyped a story for TONIGHT )(5/4) on "LIVE ON 5" (WEWS - Cleveland)..regarding what CP has done to TTD to ensure (or is it insure?) the highest and fastest roller coaster will operate better this season. Sounds like an interesting sstory for those within reach of the Cleveland station.
Could you follow up on this story for those of us not in the state?

Story emphasized safety. Other than that, it made me jealous of the staff at our sister park. It showed a lift walk on Magnum, along with training on rides such as TTD. Also showed practice for employees at Johnny Rockets!

I am glad I got the day off so I can go to the Point with friends. I look forward to seeing everyone there.

Then come visit me at the Lake on Sunday!

Hey just got done watching the piece on the news...Pretty much just said that they were working hard and fixing things up...They showed employees doing training(practicing at johnny rockets, walkin the hill on magnum, people filling out training books on TTD) That was pretty much the gist of the segment...just that they are training people and getting things ready and workin out the bugs so everything will be ready for opening day!

Just saw the CP/TTD Story on the news....pretty much it was a decent story that said that TTD will be up and running and that last year was just some "bugs" that you'd have with any $25 million ride. They also reaffirmed the fact that all CP rides are safe, and have been inspected. I'd guess that they did that just to make people feel better considering the S:ROS accident. Overall, it wasn't bad, and probably was very good for the GP, but it wasn't anything that any of us haven't heard before.

Thanks for the report. A bit disappointing though. Oh well.

Interesting that the reopening of a seasonal business is deemed "news". Ya think they got an ad buy or two?

The local Cleveland stations usually run a piece each May about Cedar Point preparing for the season and then again after opening day. Most stations also usually cover GL/SFWoA in the same fashion.
