Last I saw they were stacked in Mean Streak's infield. But that was before they cleared it out for Eden Musee so don't know where they moved them to.

Yes, one of the tires flew off. No one was injured.
You can read all about it here. :)

ARMS DOWN!
I had forgotten that the tire fell so early in the season in 2003. If I had to guess I would have said mid-season. I think I was at the park just a few days before the tire fell and the Christmas tree lights on the tower were not even completed/operational yet.

Wow, I remember that evening! I was waiting in line somewhere around the second or third section of cues from the station and caught the flying tire out of the corner of my eye. I was able to turn my head quick enough to watch as it flew down the area right between the track and the fence that seperates the cue lines from the ride. As I recall the tire was moving at a pretty good clip and bounced several times as it sailed to it's final resting place somewhere around where the track starts it's turn at the unloading area. When I saw it happen I was sure that the ride would be closed down and I'd have waited all that time for nothing. To my excitement they shut the ride down long enough to transfer the train off that had lost its wheel and then opened it back up! The next morning, every single train that was being used that day, or ever again had all of the engines and wheels removed. I just remember thinking to myself that it was such a good thing that the fence was there and that the wheel stayed clear of anybody. At the speed that thing was going, it wouldn't have been a pretty picture. That same season I rode Dragster in the morning and went back for another spin later, only to see the launch cable had snapped and shreads of wire were sticking out of the launch area. It may not have been a stellar first year for TTD, but it's still one of my favorites!!
