TTD testing!

I was watching the web cam on the CP website and I saw a picture of dragster with all the trains on the track and it was testing! They got that cable on quick. I hope it opens soon.

and you were able to tell from a static web image that it was testing how???

Goodbye MrScott

John

They test all the time. That is NO indication that it will or will not open.

Let's go straight to the Merry-Go-Round!

I said I hope it opens soon. And Juggalotus obviously if I saw it on the hill what else would you call that . Its testing. it probably wont open but its testing. this at least means that the new cable is on.

I also see a large line of people outside the ride. So either they're dumb and waiting for a ride that wont open or their is some indication that it might open.

They could probably test for the next month before they open it. Don't get your hopes up, yet.
They will probably wait a few days until the incident hype burns off.

I was there yesterday, it didn't test but they loaded all the trains and it looked like they put in a new cable as the slack in it was gone by the afternoon.

They also put in all the dummies in 4 trains, but they took the blue train back off later in the day.

it's good they're testing today but I'm quite miffed i didn't get to see it while i was there... *** Edited 7/16/2004 3:23:55 PM UTC by Unfortunate_smiley***

I wonder if they put something new on the cable to prevent it from happening again.

I doubt they had time to do that. The media made the incident sound worse than what it really was. I'm guessing it was another faulty cable and they replaced it. Seems very odd since it could happen again easily. Now people can count how many rollbacks they had and how many pieces of the launch cable you get hit by. JOKE!! I'm sure CP knows its safe so I'm not worried.

They had to of. Never would they just fix the ride, and not the problem that caused it to be down.

I hope you were just joking about the first thing you said too. Cedar Point would never, repeat never open the ride back up if they had not fixed the problem- that would be too Six Flags-ish. Law-suit waiting to happen.

Actually, Six Flags wouldn't do that either. See: S:RoS @ SFNE, SFA, and SFDL
I was there last night and it did indeed run with fully loaded trains. Unfortunately the extreme rain at about 8PM sort of killed everything.

cyberdman

Cyberdman, I was there last night too, and after the rain TTD opened at about 10:35pm and I got on in less than 10 minutes. The trains were clearing the top with ease. Awesome ride!!! Glad to see it's back.

Actually....no. What they would really do is just replace the cable normally. Then, they would inspect the cable periodically for signs of wear. If they put something on the cable, it would interfere with the launch.
