I hope you were just joking about the first thing you said too. Cedar Point would never, repeat never open the ride back up if they had not fixed the problem- that would be too Six Flags-ish. Law-suit waiting to happen.

Actually....no. What they would really do is just replace the cable normally. Then, they would inspect the cable periodically for signs of wear. If they put something on the cable, it would interfere with the launch.
