TTD Status Reports

Hey i've been monitoring the whole TTD thing for a few days now, and TTD has been pretty sketch lately. I'm planning on going next wednesday and thursday, and i'd just like to be kept up to date on the status of TTD. If someone who was actually there (not just looking at the webcams), could just leave a post about when TTD was open or close and put the day that you went. If you guys could do that it would be great, thanks!
Friday May 30th 14:22:09 it is up. But you can just LOOK AT THE WEBCAM to see if it is in operation.

trips to CP:3 Dragster:1 MFer:4 Magnum: 8 doesn't get any better then a nice day in may!

I was there Thursday it was running
An update as to when ERT or Freeway starts would be nice also.
ERT is every morning for MF and TTD 1 hour before the park opens. Resort guests and JCC members can get in and ride.

I was there last week and only MF was running at 9 am because of the cable break on TTD. They had Mantis running at about 9:15. You can never tell when TTD is going to break down. You might as well get the crystal ball out.

I didn't think ERT started yet because both days we went, 5/25 and 5/26(before the cable broke), it wasn't going.

On a side note...I couldn't believe the line for the Freeway pass for MF. Waiting in a long line to avoid waiting in a long line...I don't get it. I liked it better when no one knew about it.

I'd just like to say I appriciate the status reports. I know people on this board like to get on their high horse and say "there is no crystal ball," but I find it helpful. If I see Dragster is only down a couple hours or less per day thats no big deal. If I see it's only open for a couple hours a day, I might consider postponing my upcoming trip. And I can't sit around watching the web cam all day. So even if you're just reporting what you saw on the web cam, I find that helpful. So thanks for sharing the info.
Well last week the ride was on and off. It was running on monday with the occasional break down. Uptime was about 60% until the cable snapped.

Down on Tuesday.

Opened Wednesday at ~7:30pm. Park closed at 8.

Thursday it had more problems. Don't know the down time.

Friday, seemed to be better with the down time but no trip reports have come back yet.

Just go to the park and have fun. You can never tell if the ride is going to break down for 5 minutes or 5 hours. If anything major happens like the cable breaking then it will pop up in a new thread within hours of it happening.

photonix is right about wednesday.

i was there on thursday, didn't open till about 1pm, we got in line at 1:30, broke down about 20 minutes later, and wasn't open the rest of the time we were there (we left at about 4:30). we tried to wait it out, but after about 2 hours of waiting, we said screw it, we only have a couple more hours till we hafta leave, and i'm glad we said screw it, cause we woulda been waiting all night.

Just to clarify. TTD opened around 6:15 on wed. I was there and we waited for it to reopen, and only had to wait 10 minutes, the best 10 minutes invested in my life!!! Just happened to be at the right place at the right time
Um, Phenom. I waited in line for four and a half hours for Dragster to open and when it did I was the third train out. The first trains launched just before 7:40. I was off at 7:40.

EDIT: This was on Wednesday 5/28.

I was there on Thursday and it ran for about 35 mins at around 1 pm then didn't start back up again until about 6:05. I left at 6:45 and it was still running so i don't know if it stayed open the remainder of the night or not.

Finally Da Great 1 has come back to CEDAR POINT!
MF: 11 WT: 5 TTD: 1 Raptor: 25 Mantis: 15 Magnum: 35 MS: 27

mrm4short2, a little friendly advice: if you're planning a long trip for the sole purpose of riding TTD, wait a couple months. Like any new coaster anywhere, it'll take some time to shake it out.

Without upstops, airtime would have a whole new meaning!

Yeah, and unlike how reliable EVERY SINGLE FAN ON THIS SITE said CP is about new roller coasters, this one isn't. Down time and unreliability is really killing the dimensions of the ride and the somewhat well mannered reputationof the park. But, Before you all go to defend yourselves, because i know you will... admit it...the ride is having problems and is nowhere as dependable as some of you made it out to be. But of course...this post will most likely be deleted because anyone against the park is not entitled to their opinion, and even if it stays on, you guys will deny any comments whatsoever and will not admit facts...stunning.
I was at the park today and TTD is up and running. They did run into A down time for an hour or so in the late afternoon. When it started running again the only thing that shut it down was rain and when the rain ended the ride ran again.

I think that it is funny, because Wicked Twister was down for about two months last year and it did not draw so many complaints. MF had it's problems with down time and did not have this many complaints either. Chaindog said it best new coasters take time to work out the bugs and that includes Cedar Point. If the well mannered reputation of the park is going "south" attendance sure did not show it today!

Was that a bash at the park or us? I can't tell who he's mad at. I thought this topic spoke for itself in admiting the ride has problems, among many other topics. It's been said before and I'll say it again, this speed and height has never been done before. The technology is new, the ride is new, expect much more downtime than usual in it's first year. The reason we still back the park is because they are doing everything they can to keep us riding this beast, including working maintanence workers after the park is closed to ensure everyone in line gets a ride. We admit it has problems, the park admits it has problems, they are doing the very best they can to keep it open. Be satisfied with that and let's please end the argument already. It doesn't need to pop up in every topic.

The Fast and the Fearless

I applaud u IntegraGSR...couldn't of explained it any better myself
The park was moderately crowded yesterday (Friday), but not so bad that there were terribly long waits.

Dragster appears to be getting its feet, capacity-wise. I entered the queue around 1PM yesterday. The queue was almost full; the last set of switchbacks were about half full. I waited almost exactly two hours, and that included about 20 minutes of announced downtime. Just a few weeks ago, a queue that full would have been four hours.

Gold is still on the transfer tracks during operation. It had water dummies in it yesterday. They are no longer using the "ghost train", and the ride is capable of moving more than one train through safeties/unload/load at a time, though pairs are not moved strictly "together".

Just to correct myself, I said i was there on wed and rode it at 6:20, I was there on thursday. It was closed for a lot of the day on thurday. We had rode everything else we wanted to so we decided to go sit by the gates why they were working on TTD. We only waited 1/2 hr before they strarted testing and then opened the ride. We were one of the first to get in line and waited less than 5 minutes. Once again, i'm sorry i said wed instead of thurs, i didn't mean to confuse anyone.
This might be a little of topic but I notice that everyone is complaining about TTD's breakdowns all the time. It is a new ride and has problems to be worked out. MF was just like this when it opened. You may call me crazy but I think that breakdowns add to the experience...as long as the ride reopens so I can ride. I waited 1hr and 15min for TTD. I got in the station and the ride broke down for 30min. I had some time to kill so I layed down and took a nap in the station. When the ride reopened, I 15min for the front seat and had a blast! Even with a breakdown and waiting for the front seat, I waited less than the 2hrs wait that was predicted when I entered the line.
