TTD Segment on CBS Early Show

In case you didn't see it when it aired this morning, here's a link to the article. If you click on the multimedia/video section to the right. It shows a GREAT segment on Dragster (featuring myself being interviewed right after my first front seat ride!)

The clip features reverse POV footage of a rollback and slow motion footage of the face rippling effect of the launch. It's also the first coaster footage I've seen on TV recently that wasn't followed up by senseless babble regarding safety and Markey. Enjoy!

That was pretty cool. She was riding with Monty, right? My picture was a little blurry. I loved how he just casually said "we're going to roll back." That, I think, was the best part.

It was filmed on Thursday, May 15th. The original air date was supposed to be a couple weeks ago, but the segment got bumped. I didn't know it was airing until about 5 minutes before the segment started.

I wanted a rollback too! I rode TTD 6 times, and on the 6th ride we just chanted "rollback, rollback, rollback..." in the launch area. It obviously didn't work.

Well she said in the clip when the track is cold there are more chances for a roll back. Thank god for those weekends in October!

Cool. We were in line that day as well. We were about 30 people back, but I couldn't see us.
It's odd what she said about the track being to cold for the train to clear the top, because it should be the opposite with the track hot there is more friction but maybe TTD is different.
I think you have to realize that sometimes these "media types" misstate things for one of a few of reasons. First - what they do say sounds better than the real reason and that way they don't have to go into a big explanation that will eat up their camera time and bore most of the people watching. Second - they are given a simple explanation and because they can't comprehend it on the spur of the moment, they just pick out a few key words and then put them together wrong anyway. Third - they don't get cue cards for these stories. Even if they did, some of them would still screw up. However, I really enjoyed Ms. Murphy's feature on TTD and must say that it was one of the best I've seen.
It was good and I realize what your saying im just making a point, not trying to start an arguement.:)
Does anybody know how to download this video on your hard drive.

Very cool footage. I was at the point last thursday and got to experience a rollback. When we neared the top I could tell we weren't going to make it. After we made it back into the station, they made us get out to do a test run, which successfully cleared the tophat. So they put us back on and this time it cleared. It was a very cool experience, and I hope all of you who want to experience get the chance to do.
did anyone else notice those people coming through the exit?.(then enter the ride on the side you exit on)
