This roller coaster is a load of crap.

Err, no comment.

i agree with Tarto, the Top Thrill Dragster is a load of crap. everyone says how u should expect down time becuase it's a new ride. yes, i do expect there to be down time, but when a new ride like this is open one day, and then closed for a whole week, that is just ridiculous. and the day that it is open, it breaks every 30 minutes. cedar point needs to spend a little more time to keep this ride open! they're supposed to be the number one amusement park in the world, then they should be able to keep their rides open

I looked at like 10:30 and there wasn't anybody in the station... Altho they did have a full crew standing there, so they looked like they planned to run it.

Altho now it it looks like the crew was sent home... Oh well, At least they tried.

It was definatly open at about 11:30. For them to have emptied the line, they must have expected a long delay. I wouldn't be suprised to see the different status report on the web page before too long.

Tear it down... get a refund... and have B&M build a coaster that works. ;)

I personally suggest you shut up, before you get ripped to threads. Dragster in all her downtime is a coaster like no other. If you don't want to have patience like the most of us, then ya know what? Don't ride it. It's as simple as that.

Don't come on here and complain to us, we don't want to hear it.

See, the problem is, all the people that complain are the ppl that haven't gotten on the ride, but the ppl that defend cedar point for doing everything they can are the ones who have already ridden TTD. hmm...what does that tell ya

I have ridden TTD four times this year. Yes, it is a ride like no other. But the proof is piling up that the industry just plain wasn't ready for a ride this complicated. I wasn't being serious about tearing out it down. I love the ride, best one in the world. But for all the negativity surrounding the downtime, they would have been better off waiting a few years. TTD is a ride before it's time, and it shows. I love the way Cedar Point has pushed the envelope in the past, but if you push too hard, too fast, the envelope is going to rip.

I rode TTD once on 5-28 after hours of downtime that day. i spent 3 days at the point after driving over a thousand miles just to ride TTD. out of the 3 days, TTD dragster ran for a total of about 2 hours. And it keeps getting worse. Yes, ive rode it (once) and its the best ride ever built. im not defending cedar point at all on this one. the ride operators are extremley rude when theres downtime. I dont know, thats just what i saw. plus, i rarely ever see anyone working on this thing when its down. cedar point needs to really get its act together.

bill, i agree 100% with u, i was there on 5-28 also, but i was on a trip with my band, and i had to leave right when the park closed, and TTD didn't open till like 30 minutes before the park closed, so i didn't have any time to get on it

Someone mentioned that the industry isn't ready for a ride this complicated. Was the industry ready for Millennium Force in 2000, with its new elevator-lift technology? Probably, but it still had it's growing pains, as all rides do.

The Park has got to be more frustrated than we are with the downtime on the ride, and I can almost guarantee they are working around the clock, day in and day out, trying to get the damn thing working on a consistant basis. Xcelerator had some problems, and now so does Dragster. Big deal.

I have been on it five times, in five visits, most in earl May. Point is, I waited 3-5 hours for it all five times, with numerous breakdowns in between.

I, for one, would rather have Cedar Point continue with it's world-record-breaking coasters in terms of height, speed, and have them break-down until the "trial period" is over...than go the way of "other parks" and build medium sized-clones that have less troubles.

You'd be crazy to think that CP isn't doing everything in their power to get this ride up and running. This looks bad for them, and can harm attendance of people who come just to ride it. The park hasn't let us down before, and they are the best for a reason.

The only thing you can blame CP for is how efficient the ride operates. Which they haven't had enough time to even tweak.

It would be easy to blame Intamin, as it is their ride. Maybe they cut corners, maybe they didn't test it in the right manner/environment.

To think that a cutting edge coaster that is a one of a kind wouldn't have problems is poor thinking.

I don't blame the park, not because I'm a fan either. But I do hold Intamin partly responsible.

But to put things in perspective, it is a ride, a rollercoaster. If the ride being down is the worst thing that happens to you today, then you are having a better day than most people.

I have yet to ride TTD but I totally understand what is going on. I have patience because i know it will be well worth it. And plus they have crews in the station right now. It will probablly be up and running sometime today or in the near future. I do not expect another 2 week span or even 2 day span.

so anyways.... back to the original comment, it appears to be closed.

and as far as it being a piece of crap, why dont YOU go build something better?

One thing, just called cause i was thinking about going up and the lady said they "plan" to have it running between 4-5. Looks like i might just make the one hour trip to finally ride the sucka!

Doesn't anyone remember Millennium Force's opening season?

Give it some time, this is getting silly...

If you look at the web cam, there is a huge line going all the way past the station, and they arn't even testing! I am recording the web cam images, and I have yesterdays too. So if anyone want to see them for some reason email me, and I'll see what I can do.
It looks like it should reopen anytime. I see a huge mob of peeps by the coaster.
