TTD and Maverick Questions

I have a few questions in regards to TTD and Maverick, and they are completely different from each other. I just figured I'd throw them all into one post...

1. How much money do you think/know Cedar Point spends a year, just on the oil needed for TTD's hydraulic launching mechanism? Does this have any correlation to why it has been considered a "bad investment"? In your opinion.

2. When my buddies and I visited CP last week, we saw one rollback, and were wondering what that would be like, haha. Have any of you guys experienced a rollback? If so, was it pretty scary, fun, etc.?

3. I only got to ride Maverick once, nevertheless, it was really worth the wait in my opinion. However, I noticed towards the end of the ride that the right part of the track had a lot of wear on it, for only being introduced this year. I'm no physicist, and this may be normal, but does anyone else think or know if the last part of the ride (tracks) seem to be taking a lot of stress from the train? Or is all that perfectly normal? I'm sure it is, just curious.

1.I'm not sure on the exact price, but I do know a few things about the oil used. One, they use allloootttt!:) Two, they use the same oil over and over until it needs to be replaced. My guess is that they replace the oil 1-3 times a year. Again, I'm not sure on the price. And it has nothing to do with the whole "bad investment" issue. That was due to it's poor performance in 2003 and 2004.

2.I have experienced one out of my 190 rides and it is without a doubt one of the coolest experiences.....not to mention you get launched again.:)

3.Could you specify where about in the layout this track section is at?

I think they're talking about by the water bombs. The track is almost becoming black over there.

3) I think that he is reffering to the replacement track. It is a slightly different color then the rest of the track. I don't believe that this is due to excess wear.

Here can be seen the small change in color where the train enters the canyon over the pond after the launch.

Yeah, that's the replacement track.

He said "towards the end of the ride the right part of the track had a lot of wear on it." Where do you guys get replacement track from that? I take that to mean the right side of every piece of track near the end. I'm not sure how you can see wear on steel track by riding over it at 50 mph, but the paint may be wearing off unevenly around the wheel strips.

When I was on the ride (my friend and I got the front seat), I was able to see the track before rode over it, and it looked blackened. It might have been on both sides of the track, but forgive me, I was not able to take too much in, haha. I think it might have just been the replacement track, like some have said. Was the replacement track at the end? If so, then that was probably what I was seeing.

Since I live in Fargo, ND, I can't simply go back there to specify, but I swear I thought a part of the track was kind of blackened towards the end. Thanks for your replies though!
