Trouble with links

Morté615's avatar

I am having trouble with clicking on links in the posts.
Everytime I click on one it takes me to a page that says "The Resource cannot be found." with the following content.

Server Error in '/' Application. The resource cannot be found. Description: HTTP404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies)could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarilyunavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it isspelled correctly. Requested URL: /Gallery.aspx Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.1433; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.1433

This particular example was taken from the Easter Update thread, but similar things have happened when I click on other internal links.

I am using Firefox 2.0.0.11 (portable version) but I have noticed the same thing on IE 6

What's the link you're trying to follow? It's just a page not found error, which means the page linked to does not exist.

The link I am trying to find is the one that will take me to the photos for the easter update.
Also whenever I click on the jump to newest post link I get a page that says this:

The link is to the old site. It was recently updated. Click the gallery link at the top of any page and poke around there.

That error happens when you click certain buttons before the page has fully loaded. The reason is because the server wants to make sure that you're not manipulating the data, so it wants a hidden form value. I can simply turn that off, but I need to look through the app to make sure I'm validating that data myself.

In the mean time, just make sure the browser's whirly icon has stopped spinning before pushing a button.

Is that a technical term Jeff? ;)

I'm sure it has a proper name, I just don't know what it is.

All Mac users are very familiar with the dreaded spinning beach ball.

I've been a Mac owner for nearly two years, and I can't remember ever having one, except sometimes in Firefox when you first load Gmail.

^Then I have bad luck with my browser. Safari seems to crash every day when I try to load multiple tabs at once.

I only get the beachball when I first open my laptop and try to view a webpage before the wireless connection has been made.

Otherwise, no problems. Even looking to get a mac-mini for my desktop area.

I was trying to go to the Cedar Point announces CoasterMania! '08 details in the News Forum, and it came up this message[url][url].

JuggaLotus's avatar

I think its a Cedar Point error and not a Pointbuzz error.

No, it's not a Cedar Point error. I can't open that news item either. I get the same error. Why would it be a Cedar Point error? It's not the link to the coastemania site that's not working, it's the news item that won't open.

This is the link we're trying to open:

Oh, ok, I thought his link was to the coastermania webpage. New browser theme makes it hard to see where links specifically go.

And the link above is to http:///

The news story, with the link for the flyer, is here. I'll defer to Jeff as to the trouble with the discussion link.
