Ok I have a week of vacation coming up. My family all has season passes to CP/GL.
The current plan is to drop the kids at grandmas just ouside of Toledo (I live in Columbus) on Saturday. Spend Saturday with the wife at PIB and Kelly's Island, then drive over to GL on Sunday just the two of us.
I want to ride the GL rides because I have only rode RWB and Superman (Steel Venom). RWB was 11 times in a row when I was about 9 years old (1980s).
So this is where I need help, we went to GL a couple Sundays back just for the water rides, so I can guage how busy it will be. One thing I have never done though, is go to CP on a Sunday. We were hoping to ride at GL then drive to CP and get in a ride on Maggie or Millie before going back to grandmas to pick up the kids.
Is CP too busy on a Sunday (3-5pm) to expect to get in, ride Millie and Maggie, and get out in under 90-120 minutes?
Platinum has it's perks. So does living exactly 97.5 miles from King's Island and Cedar Point
Sunday's probably the best day to go. That's the day I usually go every week. This time of year, it will be busy, but not like any of the other days.
Sunday's at CP have been good for me too. I have family that lives in Fort Wayne, IN. When I visit them on weekends, I usually head up to CP on my way back to Canton OH. If you're only expecting to get on those two rides, you shouldn't have any problem.
I've really enjoyed my season pass this year for that reason. If I just want to make a quick trip to the park to ride a couple of rides then go home, I can, and don't feel like I need to spend the entire day.
Sundays have always been good to me. Let's see, if you can be at GLP at opening and then at CP by 4 (and park in the water park lot) you should be able to easily get in any coaster you want (maybe only one on MF and TTD). Given that one can overestimate a two hour commute between that would give four hours at GLP and 6 at CP. Should be plenty for a coaster sort of day.
