I went to geauga lake yesterday- 6/05/06/. I must say,i was
really impressed with the park. Cedar fair has really done a-lot
with the park. The park was very clean and numerous times,
their were employees sweeping and keeping everything cleaned.
The restrooms were clean and at times throughout the day,
attendants were cleaning. Everything was much better than
the six flags days. I rode the shuttle over to wildwater kingdom.
Cedar fair has done a fantastic job with the waterpark. The slides,
and the giant funnel slide were great and everybody seemed
to be having a great time. Wave pool was filled with people.
The kids area with tipping bucket was nice also. When i was on
the ride side, there was actually a nice crowd and waiting in
line was a nice change from last season, when i walked on
everything because no one was there. I liked the fact the hold
brake was back on the steel venom. Now that mr hydes is
gone, i hope they install a new freefall ride. Also over by the
texas twister, they are installing some type of game. This is
where the silver bullet was. If i was in charge,i would add some
type of flat ride here. In conclusion, i had a great time and
only see geauga lake to become better.

Visited GL on the 12th.
Employee training has been upgraded a lot since two years ago. Though there are some ride ops who still like to have casual conversations with each other while working.
It's interesting that you bring up flat rides. With the flagging of the park there were a number of flats removed including the bullet, rotor and that other one next to the double loop that i can't remember. Anyway, it definately would help the park to find some oler style flats to fill out the line-up. Not that it's desparately needed with the current average daily, but when the park fills up it's nice to have those flats to take people off those congested midways.
I agree with gener. A few additional flat rides would really help round out the profile for the park. By CP standards such rides are dirt cheap, especially if you buy used. A rotor would be great, maybe a Roundup. I think the slide side could use a couple more rides to help even out traffic.
I keep thinking GL would be the ideal spot for a spinning mouse. Has anyone ever built a dueling spinning mouse coaster? That would be interesting. Whatever GL does, they really need to focus on being different.
What Geauga Lake needs is a rollercoaster like "Roller Soaker" at Hershepark. It is a very nice ride, not a great capacity ride so it would fit perfect with Geauga Lake. It could be placed on the Wild Water Kingdom side and marketed as the largest, longest, wetest, water dumping coaster on the planet. It would be a great fit for Geauga Lake.
Geauga Lake needs a train like the Judy K / Myron H and how about a re-incarnation of the Frontier Lift going from one side of the lake to the other side of the lake!
We've discussed the issue of rides like a lift going over the lake. How would you e-vac people if needed?
