Last season, I remember reading some posts that discussed the apparent loss of trees along Frontier Midway. I visited the park today for the first time this season, and, call me crazy, but I'd say the situation has gotten worse!
I noticed quite a few trees along Frontier Trail that either looked pretty unhealthy or dead altogether. And there were also maybe five or six instances where the entire top half of the tree had been chopped away, leaving only the trunk (which usually had a lot of the Starlight Spectacular lights on them). And I felt like you could find a few other large trees that didn't look so good throughout the rest of the park as well.
Anyone else notice this, or is it just my imagination? I know we've had some nasty weather this year, so perhaps that is the cause of all this? Just wanted to see if this was all in my head!
Thrills Around the Corner!
If your talking about the begining of the trail near the tunnel under millennium, that happened in the off season between 2009 and 2010.

I've heard there's a lot of diseased trees in the park. I'm not sure if Emerald Ash Borer is a problem at the park but there's usually a legitimate reason for removing trees and other foliage. Be it construction, or disease/infestation. It may not be desirable, but sometimes it's the only way.
I'm sure Walt could chime in on this issue with his previous background. :)
