I really need someones advice.. Im planning on going to Cedar Point for opening day weekend but the problem is no one im going with is able to rent a car.. We are flying into Clevelands airport and need to know what the cheapest most beneficial way we can get to Sandusky from there.. Secondly we are trying to save money by booking for the Breakers Express but realize there is no shuttle transportation. Is there anyway to get to the park from there without paying an expensive cab/parking fee..
3 Rollbacks- 2 back to back front row -dead serious- IT WAS THE SH*T!!!!!
Greyhound, cab or finding someone on here willing to drive you are really your only choices.
As for getting to from the hotel, you're on your own (unless you can find a friendly soul to drive you over). You'd be better off looking at other area hotels. Some of them do offer a shuttle, but since I've never stayed at any I couldn't tell you which ones do. The prices should be comparable to BE.

You can't walk from BE to the park, so how far it is really doesn't matter.
I think that the Knights Inn in Sandusky has a shuttle that goes to the park. I know that Bayshore Campground has one and they have pretty inexpensive cabins for rent.
eat. sleep. ride! - Coaster apparel and accessories!
Ride on, MrScott!
Travel lodge hotel is pretty good price and it has a bus that takes you to Cedar Point. I stayed there once before because the car we had broke down on us.

I've traveled from Cleveland to Sandusky many of times. Your best bet is Greyhound or Amtrak.
When you arrive at the airport, you can take the RTA transit rail to downtown where the Greyhound is a few block walk (its a good walk - not through bad areas). It will cost $1.75 per person.
Greyhound has usually 3 or 4 buses a day that go from Cleveland to Sandusky. Greyhound has been really improving as of late - new buses, remodeled terminals, and much more. They are really trying hard to improve and they are getting much better. It will probaly be around $35ish per person round trip, but they offer a buy one fare, get a companion fare half off. The Greyhound station is located on 250 several miles south of the park. You can take a cab to the hotel/park - and it really isn't that much. I seem to remember it was 12 bucks total (from Greyhound to Cedar Point). Remember if you take a cab you don't have to pay for parking.
If you arn't old enough to rent a car, are you old enough to stay at Breakers Express? Ironically Breakers Express is one of the few hotel that DOESN'T offer a shuttle - as in many of the hotels in the area do offer a free shuttle (I tried their shuttle service and it is actually quite good). Most of the hotels share a single shuttle.
Amtrak is great... when it is on time. The other big problem is it runs between Cleveland and Sandusky (there are two trains that run between them daily) are in the middle of the night. The service is great, the stations are nice and safe - you'll just arrive in Sandusky at about 5am (but there are cabs available there). The cost is usually about 25 bucks round trip. The RTA runs from the airport directly to the Amtrak station (you have to transfer trains though).
Most of the time to rent a car you have to be 25+. To rent a U-Haul, 18+. If you really wanted to drive yourself, just rent the van:)
Next time you may want to fly into Toledo. Toledo is closer than Clevland and its a better drive than from Clevland.

Thank you all for the really good advice.. All your information is really making my trip up there alot easier..

Most rental car agencies let anyone over 18 rent-a-car. However, expect to pay a lot more in fees. Enterprise was the cheapest at a $35 one-time fee.
