I registered just to post this question. I've exhausted all other avenues of info and home someone here can help.
I will finally get to live my lifelong dream of visiting CP this August. My travel companion and I do not drive. We will be taking Greyhound. I understand the Greyhound stop is quite far from the park and not really even in Sandusky. So my question is, what is the best way for us to get to our CP resort from Greyhound and then back to greyhound on the day we leave. Thank you anyone who has any helpfull info.
Thank you. I wasn't sure about the taxi service there. Anyone got a phone number for a reliable taxi company?
Once you get to the Greyhound station, there will be a list of numbers for a Taxi. They are all about the same as far as service.
I've taken the Greyhound to Sandusky before and yes they have taxi information. Usually there is a taxi or two there waiting. Last year it was around 14 bucks to Cedar Point. My advice is talk to others who get off and see if they are going to the park (a lot of employees take the Greyhound) so you might be able to split a cab fare.
I recommend getting to the stop about 20 or so minutes early as most buses spend no more than 5 minutes in Sandusky and sometimes get there early. *** Edited 4/24/2007 2:36:01 AM UTC by Andrew***
I'm going to be needing to take the bus to the park from my school come Sept. and Oct. to get to work.

According to the park "During a significant part of our season, Cedar Point personnel will be at the Greyhound Bus terminal in Sandusky to provide transport to Cedar Point."
So maybe they'll do that in Sept. and Oct. and you might be able to save on cab fare? Even if they don't the one time I took the bus to Sandusky on a Friday in Sept. five or so people were heading to Cedar Point for work so you atleast would probably be able to find someone to split the cab fare with.
Well, strangers aren't generally interested in sharing a cab or making frinds with my liberally tattooed, pierced face, mohawked self but, I think we can swing the money for our own taxi. Does it take you right to your hotel? I'm not familiar with how the roads are set up and you can't tell too much about the east side of the island from the CP map.
Where are you staying at? I would guess that it would take you straight to the hotel's front steps. If it's on point (the peninsula), you may have to pay for parking for the taxi, but you can take the parking pass to the front counter to get a refund on that.
Looking forward to Cedar Point- July 4th-5th, 2007!

That’s generally how taxis work.

Well I know that. I was inquiring as to vehicle access to the resorts on the peninsula.
Again, that is how taxis work. You tell them where to go, and they go there.
OK, I guess I'll give him a straight answer.
Because the taxi is not parking they only have to pay a $.50 causeway toll. Whether they add that into your toll or you have to pay that, I don't know.

Ride on, MrScott!
Taxi companies that make frequent trips to Cedar Point might have a parking pass or may have otherwise made arrangements with the park.

They have special arrangement (or atleast did during the last few years). The taxi would pull up and hand the attendant some kind of card, get the car handed back and then went in. The driver told me he drops/picks up people at the park a lot.
No need to thank me, even though I answered your question 4 times. Your welcome anyway.
Hey, cut him a bit of slack. He's got a Hillary for president 2008 logo on his myspace. Not everyone can be fortunate enough to be blessed with brains ;)
