Transfer Track on Launch

I was just wondering...from the look of the pictures on CP.COM the transfer track is on the track for the launch, i just thought that was wierd as ussually the tranfer track is BEHIND the station instead of in front of it--especially for a launch ride.

Am i right, or am i seeing things?

No Your right
I though by the topic you meant they moved the transfer track to the launch track [main train]... In the pictures I've seen its all the way over to the second maintance track.
You are wrong Gemini, Mean Steak, Mine Ride, and Daster Transport all have tranfer tracks in front of the station.

what is the transfer track?

the track that transfers : P
I think that the track that is used at the staging area will be actual track that moves during the transfer process. The trains will be able to move forwards and backwards on the storage track just like with MF. The track moves over, the trains roll back onto it, the track moves back, the train rolls forward into the launch position, and the steps are repeated for the rest of the trains.

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

It kind of makes sense to me. Since the trains move in pairs, the transfer track is actually where the rear train of the pair would wait and not the actual launch track. At the end of the ride the blocks are used for unloading. It would be a bit more difficult to build a moveable track with walkways for crew as well as unloading. I'm sure there are other reasons......
Obviously if the ride breaks down they have to have a way to get everyone off the trains if needed where the train stops.

The way I define the type of track is:
1. Main track: Fixed track that is used to while riders are in the trains.
2. Transfer track: Mobile track that either moves a train on it, or makes a alternate path for the train to take.
3. Maintance/Storage/Service track: Fixed track used to fix or store trains as needed.

Millennium Force has a small catwalk on the final brake run for unloading if needed. There is also a catwalk on the transfer track from the load station and unload station that employees use. The carwalk is attached with the cart not connected to either of the stations other than the unit that locks the transfer to the other tracks. It's a pretty basic system, but Millennium seemed to have a lot of trouble moving the transfer track last year.

Well steelMonsters if i'm correct in my thinking then in this ride then part of the main track is also Transfer track.

The pulley that feeds the return cable to the hook that will send the train is just in front of the transfer, in the non-moving track. The transfer will be the standby position for the second train.

That makes sense...cause i thought it was wierd how they were going to launch with the transfer track there...and when i said most coaster transfer tracks were before the station...i didnt mean most at Cedar Point....i meant most coasters overall...

I wonder why they decided to put the transfer track there instead after the break run...it just kinda seems like its in the way now, you know?

My best guess if they placed it right after the brake run it would be right by the queue and if the put it right next to the turn into the station there would be no room for the queue to go.

Actually, from the look of the picture on www.cp.com, I'd say that picture was taken in London.
Yes, I would say that it does look like it was taken in London.

Actually, I think that the reason the transfer track is where it is would be with common sense. You don't want to have to cycle a possibly broken train just to get it to the brake run. Suppose the train in load suddenly broke, all they have to do is unload it, pull it forward and then stop all other trains. Makes more sense then cycling the empty/broken train.
