Wait, when did they do this? Based on that picture, it looks like White Water Landing was still there, which would lead me to think last offseason. But if you look at the it through Windows Live Local, which is from slightly before opening day 2005, it hasn't been moved yet...

Edit: Look at the link above by cp&le_rr_guy, you can clearly see that WWL still has both tunnels (after the first mini-lift). This proves that they were actually likely moved in, and not out, and in any case, it was done a while ago...

Here's a quick link to Live Local so you don't have to look it up:

I'm guessing he did that picture in paint or some other type of program.

I can believe that. I was just making the point that it didn't prove anything.

I'd say that that recreation looks like it will be a pretty accurate guess.

The picture is a modification to the massive satellite photo that's floating around here somewhere. I think it is just someones "best guess" or "artists rendering" of what the move is.

It has to be, because nothing else makes any sense....

Here's where the tracks were pre-2006:

Here's where the most logical place the new tracks are going:

You know I never realized howbig of an area WWL took up. Looking at that pictures you really have to think about how big the ride will be to move the train tracks that much. Are they planning on getting rid of the old WWL station building?

^They'll probably keep it otherwise it would have come down with the rest of the ride. *** Edited 2/23/2006 1:02:10 AM UTC by RICHARD LYMAN***

It looked to me like they were being pretty careful and meticulous with how they were taking apart the station compared with the reckless "teenagers in a building with sledge hammers doing demolition" approach they took with the rest of the ride. I'd say it's almost definately there to stay. I see no reason why they spent so much time just taking things apart piece by little piece if they were just going to scrap the thing anyway.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

Im calling it now....

I dont think they will use the name Maverick, at all, possibly something for another park that were not even looking in to. I mean, has anyone looked into any other Cedar Fair park that is getting a new ride within the next year or two? So that leads to point two, they would have registered another name....unless...they already owned it!

My guess is there keeping the WWL platform, and are building are a rollercoaster called White Water Landing. Crazy? Yes. Possible? Yes.

I rest my case *** Edited 2/23/2006 3:59:25 AM UTC by Adviceman***

It's going to be a completely different ride on the train this year without all the trees...

First of all, we don't know what CF parks are getting a new ride in 2007, and seeing that all capital expenditure announcements have been made for 2006, the next season to look at is 2007. Now I personally have been looking at sat. photographs of all the CF parks and have been looking at past expansions from about 2000 to 2006. The only park that I can see a coaster being put into is Cedar Point. Why? Well, I'm not going to clutter up the topic with an ultra long post so go over to Thrill Network and find the Maverick thread over there.

But back to the train...yeah, it will be a different ride. But now when I sit on the far right side I won't have to worry about getting scratched by overgrown tree limbs and bushes.
