Train on lift

The Coaster Kid

There has been a train stuck in the same position on the lift of Millie for quite some time now (i think around an hour or so). I wonder what the cause of this may be, hopefully not another cable snap. If anyone has more information let us know!

If the cable is broke, how long did it take to fix it the last time?

I thought it was down for at least 1 week while they got a new cable and installed it. I remember it being down for a few days. Maybe not 1 week, but it wasn't an overnight fix.

If it is the cable, since it broke last year,I wouldn't be surprised if CP keeps an extra around. This saves time having to have one made and sent from Europe, or I guess they could have someone in the US make it if Intamin gives them the specs for it.

Train just went over the hill, at around 5:35. Guess its not a cable snap, Probably some serious computer error.

Are you guys at the park using Wi-Fi? or know a better web cam then Cedar Point, acuse you can barely see the MF track let alone see a train on it, same with TTD, and the station cam is even worset it shoots an area of nothing behind the station, used to like the midway shots so you can see the people, etc. Im glad to hear its working my friend would be disappointed tomorrow , he was planning on stopping there for his first time after visiting his mom for mothers day in Cleveland from Chicago. Its been his dream to ride MF.

Whew! That's good that it's not a cable snap! If it was I'd fix it myself just to ride it, but then I'd probably die if I tried to fix it, considering I not a mechanic, but that's beside the point! Anyway, I guess I just mean I'm happy it's not broken. Moving on now...

You mean it just got stuck on the middle of the lift up the first hill. Wouldn't it fall backwards.

Good ol' anti-rollbacks. What would we do without them?

Anyways, it's great to hear that it's not a cable snap, because that would disappoint alot of people!

When the cable snapped, what was the cause of it? Anything special or just regular wear and tear?

Just regular wear and tear. The biggest problem with that incident was not the broken cable, but rather the damage suffered by the lift sled when it came rushing down the hill and crashed into the station.

Did they install anything to keep the sled from slamming into the station if the cable were to break again?

The sled's track will deflect it down under the station. You can see the S-curved track as you cross the bridge next to the transfer.

The damage appeared to be caused by the frayed cable tearing up the anti-rollbacks tracks.
