Train decor to serve a purpose?

Looking at the train I can see tail fins, fins on the front, and a bottle neck front to make the train look like a drag racer. On a dragster I don't really know why they have those fins (is it to keep the vehicle firmly planted on the ground by directing wind downward on the fin?), but will those things serve a purpose on Dragster or only be a decoration?
decoration I would assume. Its not like they'll have that much aerodynamics anyways since people are there with their hands up.

I think he was wondering because on a real Drag race car the spoilers serve a purpose.

Yes, But the real cars go 300+ Mph, And the real cars arent tied down to a track. These are simply for theming, and to add more detail to the ride.

I'm waiting for someone to ask if those huge tires on the back are functional ;)

Back tires need to say Goodyear. Hey, that's what the best tires in the world say, right? ;)

At first glance, I thought the back tires were a little high, they look more like spare tires or something. But... I guess they are pretty cool, it just looks weird looking at the wheels of the trains and then those tires up higher.

I think the tires are supposed to look like wrinkle walls. They sit low untill you nail the gas, then when they get spinning ,they raise up high like on the back of the trains.

You are correct Mikey...

I wonder if those back tires will spin durring launch....

Pointless rotating mass isn't exactly something I'd want on the train.

DELETED!

I'm surprised by the giant wing on the back of the train. At 120mph, even a wing that small is going to do something screwy aerodynamically.
on real dragsters the front and back wings are basically upside down wings to create downwards force. They are balanced so idealy as close to 100% of the car's weight is on the back tires with the front just touching, but barely. I am assuming that they will make the top and bottom of the wing shaped the same so that no downwards or upwards force is exerted on it by the air as it goes.
I wonder if fire will come off of the back like in a real dragster

If the tires say Firestone, I probably won't ride. ;)

Hey, all we need is a little nitro, and BOOM! There's your flames :)!

Seriously, though, the tire spinning would be awesome, but all that extra weight for the motors (I know, all of that heavy 20-50 lbs.) would slow it down by, by,.... A MPH! :-)

Don't Hydraulic launches weigh the train first? The launch on Xcelerator can be increased in power, I know that. Up to 117 MPH on an empty train, and down to 10MPH.
