Anyways...Does anyone know how many new footers are being worked on?

I'm guessing that the I-beams are for housing the launch equipment. If you look at Xcelerator, you see that the launch equipment is housed directly under the ascent of the top hat... if Area 51 turns out to be the location of the top hat, the launch equipment should be there too. By the way, here's a pic of these I-beams...------------------

Anywho, a fence has been put around the track behind MS, and I would think that there are other places track might be dropped off for marketing reasons......

Edit - When Checking out Area 51, it looks as if they have completely burried the I beams with HUGE mounds of dirt! I dont know whats going on but its really kwacky
I also decided to ask a few Park Ops about the new ride...or should I say rides? Acting very dumb, I asked them about the 'big red and white track' in the back - they said its for next years coasters... Meaning more than one - 3 Wicked Twister Ops, 1 MF op, and 2 sweeps both said the park is getting not only ONE coaster thats close to the height of Millennium Force, but another one, that supposedly is not supposed to be talked about at all. I Know I shouldn't really listen to Ride Op rumors, but they did all say the same thing, without me even telling them I asked others...

Steve, awaiting not only Cedar Point's 16th, but 17th coaster in 2003. =o)

Sheesh man, can you wait just a few more days?
Also, just trust ride-ops and such for operating the ride and ensuring your safety. However, when a guests ask an open ended question like that, you usually get an answer that we use for the sole purpose of humoring ourselves to see if a guest is gullible or not :) Hey, its long hours. I think I would know, too.
One morning, I got up before the park opened. I like to walk, so I headed up towards the back of the park from the marina. A nice police officer picked me up around Mean Streak and gave me a ride back to the marina. I got some nice pictures from back of the police car of the Mean Streak. Moral of the story, unless you want a ride from an officer who may not be as nice, do not walk anywhere over there. It does fall in this no pedestrian zone, and there are cones so you cannot park in the no parking zone anyway.
I would expect after soak city closes and there is less demand for parking in the north lot, the area will be used to stage track. Take all the pictures you want then, or from your car driving by. I would still expect the fencing, as before. Cedar Fair is a large company. They have to consider other things beyond our own happiness, such as LIABILITY! If there were track segments just sitting out there, and somebody or a little kid decided thought this was a cool jungle gym, and went crawling all over it like an idiot, and fell, it is on CF property. Or, you have a support or I-beam fall on somebody's foot, hear comes a frivolous lawsuit because CF has real assets, and an out of court settlement. The courts tend to side with the public that big mean corporations (or LLCs ;) ) have to protect us from our own stupidity. Putting the temporary queues up as a fence at least tells the public, "This is somewhere you should not be." It will not keep the determined out, its just a CYA on CF's part. But, trust me, there are the police, maintenance, employees, shuttle bus drivers, etc who will be watching for people on the wrong side of that fence.
OK, this has not been a moral rant. I could care less if you break the law, I enjoy the pictures, but you must be aware that you are breaking laws, and there are real consequences. You have to decide if the risks are worth the photo. Personally, yeah, I have taken a shot or two from a coaster. The risk is being booted from the park, but the risk of getting caught is comparatively low. Compare this to shooting in an area that is well patrolled, where the risk is a trespassing charge. The possible court costs and fines make the shot prohibitively expensive. You decide.
