Track Length

I just tried to get to "World of Coasters" because I was curious as to how Millennium Force ranks with other coasters for track length. unfortunately, I couldn't get to the site. has anyone already researched this? I know of 3 coasters that already surpass it for sure.

for a 310 ft tall coaster, this was the only field I was a little disappointed in, of course I'm 100% sure it's going o be one hell of a ride! See you in line!
MF track length will be 6595 feet. I am not sure which costers are longer than this one though.

There's quite a bit unknown about that Morgan, and they're still being less than forthcoming about its height.
*Gasp* perhaps they're trying to beat the MF height record in secret? Maybe they plan on making it 311 feet and open it the day after MF. ( kinda like Knott's did with Suprememe Scream and Power Tower. Yes, I know they're the same company) Wouldn't that be something?
It's been confirmed that the Japan giga will be the tallest coaster in the world when it debuts in August of 2000. The number they said was "35 stories," whatever that means. But they did say it was taller than MF.
Whoops, i just noticed I didn't give a source. The info above was gathered from the ECC's First Drop magazine.
35 stories is roughly 350 ft!!!!!!!!
I'm going to have to go back to the morgan site. Last they said was the tallets they'd ever done, which basically meant 220ft or whatever.

Okay, looking around, a story can vary from 8-12ft.
So... This gives the ride a range between 280 and 420ft. It's not 420. We would have heard. Realistically, 10ft as max. [~3m] This gives 350.

Personally, she don't look that tall. Especially given that there are 10 cross-braces on the ride. I put it somewhere in the low 300s. In fact, if the crossbeams are 3m or 10ft, darn near 300 on the nose. [check the picture] *** This post was edited by Bill on 2/1/00. ***
So, are you saying you don't think it will beat out Millennium Force in height? Even though the magazine says it will?

Quoted from First Drop magazine, Issue 49...

"...For as well as being the tallest coaster in the world - it will be taller than Millennium Force - it will also be the longest..."

Interesting that you doubt them...(if I misread your post, I apologize in advance)
I'm saying I have my doubts until I can see specs. Neither ECC nor Morgan have been very forthcoming, and when you are claiming a record, I see no reason not to.

I dunno, it'll be interesting to see how the numbers come out in the end.
if Japan is running metric, I can see 328ft as their final, as this would be 100m.
i do beleive that Japan runs metric, and i also know that the country is VERY picky about who builds what where. (a friend of mine has a daughter that teaches English in Japan). remember that Japan has a lot of earthquakes, so whatever they build will have to be quake-proof, so that may restrict the height as well as the Japanese gov't...if i can get more info i will post it. and let's not forget all those Godzilla attacks...LOL!!!:)
