Track Design: Fact or Fiction

Hey Junkies,

I heard from an unreliable source that this track will be an oval and nothing else. I say no way. Would Cedar Point really crap out like that? I hope not. If you have any information at all, reply. If you have a crazy idea of what you think they are going to do with all that speed, reply.

From the webcams it looks like it is just an oval but they don't show the whole thing so it will be interesting to find out.

Yes, the whole thing is shown on the webcams. The PT cam has the launch and most of the brake run. The Demon Drop cam shows the rest.

well, if you really wanna be put down that badly you can take a look at the Cedarpoint.com webcams...

Oh, and "what they are doing with that speed" is sending us up over 400 feet ;)

So it's just a copy of knott's Exelorator ride then. Wow they just don't want to put any extra work into this one I guess. That makes me sad you stand up for that. I didn't know Cedar Point as a copy park but I guess I was Mistaken.

hey if #16 had all the loops n twists and overbanks and camelbacks, then:

1. CP would lose a lotta $$$

2. hard to maintain

3. make MF, magnum, raptor look insignificant

and a copy park???i dont know about that :P

Ahem, no, it's not a copy. 'Xcelerator' has two overbanked turns and reaches a height of 200', while #16 does not have any overbanks and reaches a height exceeding 400'. Plus, #16 includes a 270-degree twist that Xcelerator does not have.

And how hard is it to spell Xcelerator
