I'm surprised to not have seen this posted, but I've noticed throughout this season an on-going painting project on the side of the Town Hall Museum facing Skyhawk. On Sunday the 29th I couldn't help but notice that the scene seemed to be almost complete with some painting left to go on the Red, White, and Blue banners.
I think it looks beautiful and I'm sure has been a time consuming process. For those who haven't noticed, basically the side of the Town Hall Museum which has been plain white for years is now being painted to look like it has windows, pillars, and siding. Mad props go out to the artist(s) responsible for having this take shape. It really adds to the "look" of Frontier Town.

I've noticed this as well and think it looks really good. A nice little touch that doesn't go unnoticed.
Dvo, unfortunately I don't. I'm hoping this PSA will garnish a few photos of this project. I have criticized CP in the past on atmosphere, but I will also compliment them when it is warranted and this project is one of them.

I'll agree with Rob. I've been watching the progress on that painting since it started, and I can only say one thing, AMAZING! I'll try to get pictures this weekend.
man oh man, thanks for the tip on this gem. i've always had a soft spot in my heart for thm. this thursday, after i've wasted away in soak city for most of the day, i'll hot foot it over to the museum to check it out. i can't wait.

Without giving it away, it sounds like what's in store for the white door area on the left here will be the best part.
The other day, I had to go inside to see what lines up with the white door. Spent a good amount of time in the museum checking out pix. Still not sure about that door, lots of curtains in that corner.
Best water fountain in the park is at the entrance of the museum!
I'll agree with you on that water fountain. It's always nice and cold.
Thanks for the pics Walt. I've seen it in person, but it's still amazing how real it looks.
Ohhhh. That's sweet. Is that the side of the building that faces Snake River Falls? Like if you were looking at the main entrance to the museum, it would be the wall to the left?
This painting looks really awesome. Attendence must be pretty good this year if they're willing to spend money to add stuff like this and the additional Maverick theming in the middle of the season.
And I agree that water fountain is probably the best. The one hidden next to the cheese on a stick place across from DT's exit is always really cold too. :)

Interesting... last time I went, I asked the people AT Transport Refreshments, and they told me to go down to the Gazebo for cheese-on-a-stick.
Weird. I think Transport Refreshments might be the only place in the park that I've ever bought cheese on a stick. You can only get it down at the "booth" on the very end, the left side of that picture I linked to. But they aren't always open, so maybe that's why they directed you somewhere else.
Edit: This is going off track fast. Hopefully someone will get some more pics of the Town Hall paining when it nears completion. I'm still really excited that the park is spending money on things like this.

When I first looked at Walt's pictures, my reaction was, ok, so they painted the window trim and siding.
Then I realized that the windows and siding are painted onto the wall.
That looks really good and I can't wait to see the finished product.

I've only seen cheese-on-a-stick at the little booth between Maverick and Mean Streak. It's like in the center of the midway near the ICEE stand.
So who's going to tell us what the "surprise" is on the mural? :)
