Top Thrill Dragster's trains

It was a big relief believe me. :)

Oh and JuggaLotus, I said carry not pull. Why and exactly how would he pull the train from Cedar Point to his house?

How can you fit all six trains on the bed of a truck? You'd need a semi to TRANSPORT all 6 trains. Not just because of weight, but also because of size.
My point is that carring each car one by one would be alot on your truck. *** Edited 3/14/2005 3:24:54 AM UTC by TTD 120mph***

Or, depending on the size of the box, you could carry one, maybe two in the bed and the rest in a large TRAILER. Apparently some things about towing can't be assumed. You wouldn't just hook the train up to the truck and drag it to wherever you want it.

So no, you would not need a semi.

I think it's really funny how people are arguing about how they are going to get a Dragster train from Cedar Point to their house. Don't worry guys, the park opens in less than 2 months.

Hey, gotta have a plan in place just in case they ever go up on the auction block.

Actually, more like 1 month, 24 days, and 8 hours. :)

Auction block? where have you been? I currently own the yellow and black cherry train. They went off on ebay in November.

No, they are really geting cleaned and all that other unnecessary stuff. ;-)

Unnecessary stuff?

It's called maintenance and it is necessary. ;-) *** Edited 3/22/2005 4:56:01 AM UTC by TTD 120mph***

They are back.

Unnecessary stuff? You obviously have no idea what they were doing in that case. They are doing some of the most important things to the trains at this time of year. Basically they are using various radio frequencies (simular to Ultra sound and Xrays) to test the steel for cracks not visible otherwise. This means they have to take the trains completely apart. They also are stripped of paint and the surface of the steel is throughly inspected to detect cracks not detectable by the RF scanners.

Wow, I never knew it was that indepth. I feel about 30 times safer now, not that I didn't feel safe before.

Wow, sarcasm is really lost on some people. See the little smiley after his statement?

I've put countless smilies on some of my posts too when I was sarcastic, only to recieved the same treatment.

I just dont take to sarcasm as easily as I use to.

I guess I need to lighten up a bit. :)

Speaking of trains, I just seen the latest construction pics of Kingda Ka and it had a picture of the train(s). The front design of the train is very similar to Dragsters front design!

Take a look.

Looking at that picture, it looks like the OTSR is in addition to a lap bar. I guess Intamin isn't taking any chances with an SF employee screwing this one up.

I agree with you on that.
That harness is on all the new rocketcoasters that are comming out. And they're not that comfortable to boot.

-Adam G- The OG Dragster nut

The "lab bar" is actually part of the OSTR (well i think it is anyway by the looks of this picture):

I think you are right DareDevil. They look connected like they are the OTSR.

October 13 - Finally!

Top Thrill Dragster - 15

Yea they are part of the shoulder harness it is the same on Storm Runner.

I wonder How the cars are going to look with the theming? Orange and Green? I also wonder if the OTSR's are going to affect people riding it or if People will be turned away by them?

Yeah new year, and finally got my license, well back in august. Im in need of a trip to the park.

The GP will probably feel more secure with those on than just a lap bar. All my friends are scared of MF and TTD just because they dont have a shoulder harness

I feel more free with out the OTSR Also gives you alittle of an unsecure feeling, but it makes the coaster just that much better...
