Top thrill closed/what does it take

What does it take (weather conditions) to shut the dragster down. Ive been hearing that all it takes is a rain drop...is that true? And what is the best time to get in line?

Also how easy is it for this thing to break, Im going on Friday and im scared that is going to break down....

I havent actually seen it breaking down often, it seems to be running *somewhat* consistently

I dont think itd a be a DROP of rain... but I would say that a large amount of drizzling and/or high winds would shut it down, cant be too safe being on Lake Erie and over 400 feet up!

also, you can use the EDIT button instead of doulb-posting ;)

How often does TTD break down? No matter when you wait in line, expect it to go down at least once. The average breakdown seems to last only a few minutes, though, so don't get too concerned and run out of the line when the announcement is made.

High wind/lightning will shut it down.

I think it has been consistant too.. The last 3 days in ohio have been extremely windy so that is what it is right now anyway.
I was there on sunday an they closed it due to the winds. The winds at the top where 60 mph and the ride host who told us they where down due to weather (after we had been in line since 9am) that at the is suppose to close at 30 mph. In the past 4 days that we where at the park it spent more time down then up an running.
It was up and down Friday, Saturday & Sunday. They didn't shut it down for wind untill windspeed was 60mph at the 200 foot level. That was on Sunday.

here's my advice...when you get in line expect to be in line for about 30 extra minutes for breakdowns and delays becuase it does happen alot on this ride.
i was there on sunday when about 80% of the people in line at 10am walked out of line because they said Dragster was closed due to high winds. They then began testing and testing with no luck getting it over the top. Then they ended up getting it over the top about 5 times and put people on. it was a little before noon when i rode it. TTD wasnt shut down all day on sunday, not even half the day

When I got to the park on Sunday at 4 p.m. I saw two tests of Dragster go over the top, but that was it. It was never up and running after 4 p.m. on Sunday.
