too tall????

I have heard that on TTD it is possible to be to tall to ride!! I`ve heard that if you are taller than 6ft tall then you can`t ride? I don`t know if this is confirmed true or not. But the man from my town (Norwalk) who went for Media day was not allowed too ride because he was too tall!! Now was this just a misunderstanding or is this true??
I don't know the height, but if your head goes above the headrest you won't be able to ride. http://www.pbase.com/image/16188571

Hey wetzo99, just how tall was he? My buddy is 6'4", and he's worried. He says he might have a chance because of his freakishly long legs. ;) Most of his heighth is in his legs and not his torso, although he was too tall to ride Deju Vu at SFMM. I do understand that they are two very different rides though.

I am not sure of his height. My brother who i am going with on Sunday is about 6'2" if he can`t ride i will be very upset with CP.

It's certainly nothing to get upset with CP about. Just like all the other coasters, some "oversized" guests cannot be accomodated. I am always jealous of tall people in general, so maybe I'll get a weird sense of justice when they can't ride. ;)

I'm 6'5" and had no problems riding TTD on Thrusday.

"Launch that sucker...Yeah!"

6'2" is NOT "oversized".
Somewhere on the Cedar Point stuff I read that people taller than 6'2" may have trouble with some rides, including this one. HOWEVER, they have that 'test seat,' and like the one guy said, if you have freakishly long legs, it shouldn't be a problem. Most likely it wouldn't be. . .that guy said he was 6' 5". . .I would just go and see. The worst that can happen is you are too tall. . .and there isn't much you can do about that.

Ross: Do you have a minute? I’d like to talk to you about something I’m, I’m really uncomfortable talking about.

Joey: Sure. What? About uh, you showering with your mom?

Ross: I actually had a topic in mind!

I saw a pic of media day on the internet of a guy who had about 3/4 of his head over the head rest. I can't tell you how tall he was, but unless your like 7 feet tall, I don't think you'll have a problem....

DOG spelled backwards, is still mans' best friend!

Umm, I rode on Thursday and I am 6'5"...The headrest hit me about the middle of my head. I rode once with Eric (unsure of his name on this board) and he is about 1 to 2 inches taller than me.

I wouldn't think you'd have trouble riding....

Unless your head goes completly above the headrest you will be ok. Consider the whiplash effect if your head were to be above the headrest where your neck would have to support your head during the launch.

Actually, in the picture of the test seat, I don't believe it had a head rest. Hence, you wouldn't be able to tell if you could ride by the test seat, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of a test seat...

Richard, what'd you do?

That's just hysterical mantis man, isn't it? Oh well. I just got home from work and should be in bed, since we have to hit the road by 6:30 to get to The Point, but I'm still revved up from work, and geeked about tomorrow morning. Oh well, I can't wait to read all these boards tomorrow night. ;)

im 6'5, my upper body isnt the long part, my legs are, im hoping im still able to get one, I can get on mf fine, but head goes above that head rest...so i dunno, any help would be great
I have a friend who is 6'6 and he rode it on media day... So most people shouldn't have to worry...

Although I did think the leg room was very limited, not that I really care seeing how I'm on the train for a minute or two... If that long.

This proves that your head does not have to be under the headrest to be able to ride.

they want your neck to be supported by the hedrest, so your head doesn't fly back when they lanuch.
