Tomorrow the 19th will be twitter day at the point....

To keep the Pointbuzz up to date with the busy Halloweekend I am trying something new. I opened a Twitter page for this Friday evening and I will be posting on Twitter from my cell phone while I am at the point.

I will include wait times and anything cool I happen to see. I also will be snapping pictures and taking movies of the Point and what is going on this Halloweekends.

The URL for the Twitter page is
http://twitter.com/Ryan_Pringnitz

I will begin posting about noon tomorrow as we leave Grand Haven, Michigan and post until the fun runs out.

Hope I can shed some light on what you are all missing.

So you expect people will sit around anxiously awaiting a play-by-play of what's going on at the park? Why would they want to do that?

Yup

If he's posting wait times I could see that as something useful for people at the park otherwise its kinda pointless.

Disaster Transport 2012

I suppose those who might be thinking about a visit on a Friday night during Halloweekends might find the wait times of some interest. I live 200 miles from the park, so I can't just jump in the car whenever the mood hits me. I need to maximize my time at the park--since I can only visit a handful of times during the season--by trying to visit when it's not so busy. Now I know that nobody can predict how busy the park will be on a given day, but attendance trends can sometimes be helpful. And so trip reports like this one have some worth--although I really didn't need to know that somebody lost his lunch on Raptor.

'

So did Twitter stay up long enough without crashing for this experiment to work?

I'd be surprised if it could, what with the thousands of people flocking to it for this vital information.

Was a joke

Jeff, the Twitter thing is about as pointless as people sitting on your website waiting for information..some people, self-appointed experts on everything aside, might find this report interesting, you have a TR section on your site, so why not a Twitter TR? But, I guess that was logical thinking on my part...who knew?

Agreed.

factory81 was just trying to post some helpful information to whomever might find it interesting. Some people may be curious about what's going on at the park at a certain time.

And for the love of God, don't analyze my post with some gay remarks such as, 'Someone might think that the equation 2+2=4 is "helpful information," but there's no need to make a thread about it,' or 'If they're "curious about what's going on at the park at a certain time" then they can check the CP Web cams.'

:D

And most people don't do that either, so what's your point?

Twitter is like ADD narcissism. I played around with it, at one point following "important" people, and even then it was very nearly value-free. I don't care what people are doing in 140 characters or less, nor would I care to share what I was doing in that capacity.

Seriously, how much information do you really need, and need right this instant?

You obviously do care, otherwise you wouldn't be voicing an opinion in the first place.

Thanks for playing.

For the record, I didn't look at the Twitter. But I could see why people might be interested.

You don't even make sense. I said I don't care what people are doing. I do care that people want to extend their attention whoring here.

Thank you for playing.

My point in using twitter was I do not always remember details from the trip that I would love to throw on a trip report. This allowed me to basically do a "trip report" from the line of the rides. Chime in with anything interesting.

I say we all take a chill pill.

Right, so your initial response to the opening of this topic clearly shows you have time on your hands to post an opinion, which requires a thought process called caring. You do care, because posting any kind of response is exactly that.

People use all kinds of outlets, Twitter, the official CP website, etc...for real information that might not be useful to you, but to others it might be. Call it whatever you want, I appreciate efforts by those just trying to help out..

Not to mention Jeff, your little sticky about "what are the lines like..", having someone in-park could potentially cut down on worthless posts...

Thanks for the info factory81, I'm sure people will find that info useful when planning future trips.

Basically I wanted to show how rides can have a short line on Fridays with minute by minute coverage starring me...factory81

I wanted all the fame....
