Apparently a lot of schools are out today, so that could be the reason for the large crowds. Someone posted the list of closed rides today online and it looks like the Thursday night closures are all closed today also (Gemini, Rougarou, Mine Ride, Corkscrew, Blue Streak, etc).
Edit: just looked at Queue Times. Siren's is at 80 mins, Iron Dragon, TT2, Steel Vengeance and Maverick are all at 60.
I'm not going to try to justify the park closing early (in this post), but I want to ask, as the park ever closed early other than:
1) Significant utility issues. i.e. no power, no water
2) Weather when its cold, rainy, windy, and dead slow.
I don't think I can recall them closing for weather when all four of those conditions were met.
If they were to close, as they did, then the ability to use that day's ticket should be extended to any day in 2026.Some people may not be able to come back any longer this season. This type of treatment, or business decision, may fly under the radar for most people. However, if this and other things persist, people will eventually catch on. Could it hurt the park financially? This reminds me of when a restaurant chain slowly goes out of business. They cut staff, portion size, free things like rolls and things, and raise prices. I see the similarity, do you? They made a business decision based on profit, not the relationship with the guests. They should have stayed open and let the guests decide what to do. I am still astonished by this.
I'll be there, but I'm checking into Breakers for the entire weekend. It's looking like there won't be much running if the park does stay open. But the bars will still be open so I'll go in 🍻
At least the rest of the weekend looks OK.
