Tips for 17 - 20 year olds planning? (season passes)

Well it seems like we can drive now and we would like to plan a trip to Cedar Point w/ out the parents =-). I was wondering when applying for season passes, would any guardian need to sign or something? Also about the hotel situation and all of that, would it be possible?
And if we were to drive down there and arrive around 6-8 p.m. would we be able to make our passes that night so we don't burn time the next day?
The parent or guardina does not need to be present for the passes
Without the parents? Oh yes.

It's great fun you'll love it. And you don't need them to get the passes for you.

Magnum still rocks.

My understanding is that you have to be atleast 21 to reserve a hotel room at any of the Cedar Point resorts, so you may have some troubles trying to get a room. Maybe a nearby campground would be a better choice?

I went last year and stayed at Hotel Breakers. I made the reservation under my name and with my credit card and I was only 19 at the time. If you do it all over the internet, you shouldn't have a problem.
That online thing sounds like a good idea, please elaborate......
Anyways, both times I've been to Cedar Point, I've been at an onsite hotel. I really loved that 30 min extra time, but is it really worth it and all the trouble that comes along with it? Also are the off-site hotels cheaper or just as much as the on-sites?
If anyone could answer my other question on getting the passes the night you get there, that would be fantastic. I've also heard of getting them at like a "Topps" or something for cheaper, where is this store?
Thanks!
Well what you could do is stay at an off-site and then get the Joe Cool Membership for your season passes.

Just because it worked for you doesn't mean it will work for everyone. Sounds like the desk clerk who checked you in was asleep at the switch; I can imagine another clerk refusing to check you in, reservation or no.

Try going to cedarpoint.com, it will give you all the information that you need about season passes. I also wouldn't count on being able to check in if you are underage. I stayed at Breakers last summer, used the internet to do the reservation, and was asked to show ID, and I was 24 at the time.

The FAQ Jeff linked to has a list of hotels that allow people under 21 to stay there. I would reccomend the Best Western. I stayed there once when I was 19 and we had no problems. Plus the rooms weren't too expensive (definately cheaper than on-point) and they're kept pretty clean as well. If you want early entry, you can just pay the $15 extra and get Joe Cool on your passes.

I second the Best Western, it's only about a block or two from Breakers Express. I just turned 18 and we stayed there a week ago with no problem. One hint though: when you check in, don't have everyone come with you. Tell them it's just you (1 person, it seems they don't have a clue of how may people are staying in the room when you book online) staying in the room because there's a $25 per person deposit for "damages". That can be a pain.

If you're going for 2+ days, I wouldn't worry about the early entrance. We did it last year because we went there for about a day and a half. But this year we had 3 full days and the third day we actually ended up going to Soak City after having our fill of the park (and the hot weather).

Firstly, if you're not 21, don't risk booking a Breakers room only to get turned down when they i.d. you upon check in. I tried reserving rooms many a time and had a time trying to book my Florida vacation under my credit card before i was 21, even though i was traveling with my then 24 boyfriend.

Best Western sounds like a good bet. I've had happy experiences with them, and the prices are better than staying on point. There is a mix of hotels in the area, so depending on your budget I'm sure you can find something.

The first trip to the Point minus the rents, what a great feeling... Have fun.

Another good hotel to stay at is the HO-JO at the end of the causeway. The prices arent bad and the rooms are pretty clean. If you go at the end of the season you can get a room for under fifty bucks!!

Keep Arms Down......
Head Back......
And Hold On!!!!!!

They asked for ID when i checked in but becasue when you reserve on the internet you have to pay a deposit they gave me no hassle at all. If you have the option to pay a deposit at the time of reservation do it and they wont hassle you
