Hello:
We are planning on going to CP either on Friday, 05/18 or Wed. 05/23, depending on the weather.
1) What is the procedure for accruing timed tickets for certain popular rides?
2) Will it be necessary to get these timed tickets during these dates stated above, since this maybe a time of the year when there is not a lot of traffic?
Please advise
Thanks much.......

Thanks much....
Many years ago, when I visited CP, there was some sort of queuing system that offered timed entry. I'm glad to hear that this practice is no longer in effect. It was a disaster for those of us who were not fortunate to wait in the long initial queues...
Thanks again.....
2005, actually...

I'm soooooooooo happy they ditched Freeway too. That thing sucked. I like that everyone has to wait in the same queue.

Unless you buy a $400 VIP pass. :)

My consideration would be as follows:
Employ a system very similar to Disney World. Ticket machines that would determine the time to arrive for each person's RIDE...
I don't think any virtual queue system is really necessary at Cedar Point. The only times that the park was ever crowded enough to warrant Freeways use was July and the first part of August. I don't think the expense and effort would be worth it.
Cedar Point knows how to keep lines moving and never has a problem doing it. Rides like Raptor and Magnum are people-eaters, and even Millennium and Dragsters lines move very consistently as long as their are no mechanical problems.
Cedar Point rocks my socks.
Any type of virtual queue system costs money to operate. I highly doubt CP would implement another system without charging for it's use. I think that would be a huge mistake if they're trying to retain visitors year to year. As far as I know, Disney is the only company that doesn't charge for a virtual queue and they probably add it to the cost of your admission or parking or something. It's paid for somewhere down there. I don't really see a system like that improving the guest experience at CP - if anything, it would probably piss a lot of people off - especially if you had to pay for it.
