"Ticket To Ride" looks almost certain

To counterbalance the low capacity of Wicked Twister, it appears the ride will have a permanent "Ticket To Ride" system. This according to the "Good Word"TM (See Jeff, I can make up my own sayings).

Who honestly didn't see this coming?

What exaclty is a ticket to ride system?
who knows... maybe like a fastpass?

Creating a TTR system would be pointless, dont you remember Millennium Force's TTR? Unless CP's thseriously worked out the bugs, I cant see it happening

CEDAR POINT YES, SIX FLAGS NO! GOD BLESS AMERICA, THE RED, WHITE, AND BLUE! Vertigo Launches 71. WICKED TWISTER RIDER!!
They really should try without it first and not rush to conclusions. If lines exceed 2 hours on a normal basis then yes, do it! The Millennium Force line never seemed to exceed this point in its opening year (baring opening day and Saturdays). MF lines were just as long as when Mean Streak, Magnum,  Raptor, or Even Iron Dragon  when they first opened. If anything I think after the hype settled down they were shorter than the opening year of those rides because the total park capacity had increased. With this ride it should be no different..

I had not problem waiting in line for MF  1/1/2 hours before TTR. With TTR the line would usally be less than 45 minutes but it would take a while to get a ticket, walk away and come back so in the end TTR realy did not do anything for me.

I wonder what the scalpers will be selling a Wicked Twister TTR for  ;) . $5 was the norm for a MFing TTR. With inflation I'd say $6.

What people did with Ticket to Wait, or ride or whatever (TTR) was they would wait in a line off the main queue for a ticket. This line would sometime take a while. The ticket would be colored and in an hour time frame, you would come back a use that ticket when that color was up. Before 10 you could get in line without a ticket and after a certain time they stopped and went back to an "open queue."
Sounds good but it sucked! Here are some problems
1. The system ended at 8. So if you were an employee getting of work or a starlight admission payer NO MF FOR YOU until 8.  Tickets sold out before then. They later pushed it back to 4.
2. The biggest problem was whenever there was a breakdown or rain, you can't let people in line. The ticket times would get pushed back causing opening of the normal line later. People would come at 4 when the line is supposed to open and the line would not open till later This leads to..
3. Mass confusion!
I remember someone on this site saying there were 3 groups involved with TTR. One group in line for MF, One group in line for the tickets and one group trying to figure out what the heck is going on.

Not that again...PLEASE...Maybe this year they will call it "ticket to clone"

Okay, this will be my last (hopefully) name change!

Anyway, I hated TTR! I know people who came just to ride that and leave (yes, they we're locals) since they didn't have a whole lot of time. They waited through the locker portables. Of course that was just for the ticket. But, the ticket wasn't until later that day!

Plus it is hectic for the crew. Having to check everyone for their ticket.

I think the lines won't be too bad. It isn't as big as a deal as Millennium.

If they do do TTR, they should wait to see if lines are rediculously long!

TTR for MF was a good concept that was poorly executed. CP has said they wouldn't go to a designated ride time system until they have figured out the best way to do it.

Personally I think an assigned time system works best when computer controlled. Example, FASTPASS at Disney. While some people don't like it, it has more benifits than cons. While there is the fastpass line (which allows almost immediate riding when your time comes up) there is still the standby line, which hasn't really increased in time very much at all on most rides since FASTPASS began. Example, before FASTPASS I always waited 45 minutes or so for Space Mountain on a normal day, with FASTPASS I either get a ticket and ride almost instantly when my time comes up, or wait about 45 minutes. No real change there.

I think this works so well because of the computer controls on the system. Could the switch to digitized season passes signify the inkling of an idea of implimenting a computerized system?

Problem with using the season passes is people who don't have them. Sure they could keep thier regular tickets like at Disney, but who knows..

Oh man, well after the dissaster TTR had with MF 2 years ago, hopefully they will perfect the system. If one can do such a thing

Rob-

Yeah, that was what I was thinking. The cost of printing the physical one and two day tickets would rise (maybe even not being able to buy them at AAA anymore), driving ticket prices up over the course of a season or two and for what? A FASTPASS like system on one or two rides? Unless it can be implemented park-wide it might not be a good idea.

If it's another system that screws late-visiting season pass holders, I want no part of it.
