What exaclty is a ticket to ride system?
What people did with Ticket to Wait, or ride or whatever (TTR) was they would wait in a line off the main queue for a ticket. This line would sometime take a while. The ticket would be colored and in an hour time frame, you would come back a use that ticket when that color was up. Before 10 you could get in line without a ticket and after a certain time they stopped and went back to an "open queue."
Sounds good but it sucked! Here are some problems
1. The system ended at 8. So if you were an employee getting of work or a starlight admission payer NO MF FOR YOU until 8. Tickets sold out before then. They later pushed it back to 4.
2. The biggest problem was whenever there was a breakdown or rain, you can't let people in line. The ticket times would get pushed back causing opening of the normal line later. People would come at 4 when the line is supposed to open and the line would not open till later This leads to..
3. Mass confusion!
I remember someone on this site saying there were 3 groups involved with TTR. One group in line for MF, One group in line for the tickets and one group trying to figure out what the heck is going on.
Anyway, I hated TTR! I know people who came just to ride that and leave (yes, they we're locals) since they didn't have a whole lot of time. They waited through the locker portables. Of course that was just for the ticket. But, the ticket wasn't until later that day!
Plus it is hectic for the crew. Having to check everyone for their ticket.
I think the lines won't be too bad. It isn't as big as a deal as Millennium.
If they do do TTR, they should wait to see if lines are rediculously long!

I think this works so well because of the computer controls on the system. Could the switch to digitized season passes signify the inkling of an idea of implimenting a computerized system?

Don't let life fly by.
Yeah, that was what I was thinking. The cost of printing the physical one and two day tickets would rise (maybe even not being able to buy them at AAA anymore), driving ticket prices up over the course of a season or two and for what? A FASTPASS like system on one or two rides? Unless it can be implemented park-wide it might not be a good idea.
