Ticket To Ride Returns?

Hey gang, according to Screamscape the park will be bringing back their Ticket To Ride queue management program this year. Anybody have any information on this? Thanks!

Oh, God, not that again!

Maybe it won't suck this time... *cough*

Okay... I should probably put my hope in the "Screamscape is wrong more than half the time" angle instead...

My biggest problem with the idea, is that I actually like waiting in line at the park for the rides. To me, anyway, that's half of the fun. I can only hope (if this is true) that the Point does not do anything as dumb as Fast Lane, but I don't think they would....

Okay, here's my biggest complaint with the 'Fast-Universal-Lo-Express-Q-Lane-Pass' haters. Many say that they feel like waiting in line is a part of the 'amusement park experience'. Well, if you *dont* use the passes, guess what? You *still* get to wait in line. (And if you let the haters tell it, you even get to wait longer ;))

These passes are basically there for those people who DO NOT like to wait in lines, or do not have the time to spend in lines. I still dont see it as that big of a deal.

TTR on the other hand sucked because you had no option to 'stand and wait'. You could ONLY get a ticket.

I wish CP would look into the Lo-Q system. It seems like a really well thought out system that SFWoA is rumored to get this year.

Hostyl: That's just it... even with CP's system, you still ended up waiting in line.

Isn't that the same site that said they saw the blueprints to the 2002 attraction and it was a CCI and a Thrust Air???

Thought so.....

I Agree about the Lo-Q system WOA is getting it this season and for once Six Flags has something that ACTUALLY works.

"And His Last Words Were Huzzah!."

I think the 'idea' will be back, but with a different name and a different way of doing things.

If they do bring it back, and it works, what rides do you think they should use it on?

None. The only system I might like is if they use one pretty darn similar to Disney's. Other then that forget it.

I love the signs at IOA that tell you how long the waits are for rides all across the park :)

Mikey: sorry if that seems like it was directed at you personally. I'm really going after the 'sentiment' instead.

And Jeff the big difference with CPs TTR and all the other systems is that no other system made a line 100% reservations for any length of time (though some would argue that Disney is pushing about 80% reserved). To me that is insane. But I guess the 'queue management' horse has been sodimized enough...

For a second I was happy to see this post. I thought you were going to tell me they would be playing Beatle songs while you wait in line ;)

Lo-Q is an up-charge service. I personally don't think it's CP's style to use something like that.

If they were to use it, the most likely candidate would be Wicked Twister... I think MF is past the point where something like TTR is "needed". For CP's sake, it's great if they can get an efficient system going (which puts the original TTR out of the question). For my sake, I would rather not have any queue-management system...

You better get there early or you won't ride anything. Thats how they used it before.

You just scrued my day!

-----------------

The difference between Universal Express/Disney Fast Pass was a computer distributing tickets at multiple kiosks, automatically dividing the day up and by reading Park Admission Tickets preventing people from double dipping.. Cedar Point's Ticket to Ride had one ride-op standing there with a pile of passes, with no way to stop someone from getting in line over and over again
