One of the things I've noticed this season has been the walkaround characters from the Steel Vengeance trio, as well as a few other Frontier Town characters, and I have to say I'm a big fan. The outfits have looked good, the casting has fit the artwork quite well, and they seem like they've been a big hit with kids as well. (Granted, I've heard variations on "Hey look, it's McCree!" more than a few times, but go figure)
I'm just kind of curious about where all else they could go with this. It does definitely seem like they've been retroactively building character lore around the various parts of the park, between the SV backstory with the Maverick and the Mine Ride as well as the Battle For CP stuff. Building this sort of thing out further could be a good way to gradually build up the theme around certain parts of the park.
I feel like if you were going to group together rides for character and lore purposes, Valravn, Gatekeeper and Raptor could go together with the mythological/avian sort of route (with Rougarou and Iron Dragon potentially too if you wanted to include other beast/critters). Gemini, Magnum, MF, and Dragster could go together as a sort of astronaut/space theme (though you'd have to stretch pretty hard to make Dragster fit even as the Mad Max sort of vibe they've been depicting it as for Battle of CP).
Either way, I definitely wouldn't be opposed to more non-Snoopy costumed characters walking around. I don't think there's any hard and fast rule that says that mascots have to be external IP-based, and I think CP has enough to build off that they could make it work.
The best non-Peanuts character ever was the mascot for The Chippery, when it was around. We only saw it once, right at the beginning of that season, but it looked like someone took some yellow foam insulation, threw some googly eyes on it, and called it good enough. Hilarious.

The 3 amigos promoting "Steel Vengeance", Blackjack, Digger, And Chess were in Frontiertown until just before the 4th of July. The (3) actors who played these characters were moved over to the beach for the remainder of the season walking around the boardwalk in a festive "Mardi Gras" theme characters.
Cedar Point chose to have them help promote the Cedar Point Nights along the beach when that started on July 5th.
It will be interesting to see if they return in 2019 as Blackjack, Digger, And Chess
I did like the non peanuts characters, every time I was at Cedar Point this season, I made it a point to stop over and interact with them as well as the peanuts characters for a couple of minutes.

I would love to see them back in frontier town. Dustin from admissions (the tall one) was fantastic in that role, as they all were. I thought the characters on the beach were designed to have a lot less character and a lot more adderal and meth! :-/
